Spaceballs sorta feels like a Christmas movie to me, or at least one of those movies I got to watch and enjoy with my older family members at the time. So it's fun to revisit, even if it really is just a very very stupid movie. That's part of it's charm, of course.

Anyway, I think Blondie and Coco have their weekend together planned out now. I just hope Coco likes the movies cause nothing is harder than sharing a movie you love and realizing your partner might be bored. (Or too young to get it o_o )

Spaceballs the Placemat!

Not fully set in stone yet, but for this joke to work the age gap should be kinda severe. But that might not be the case in the final version of the story.

Space balls and Mel Brooks in general is timeless, I'm sure she enjoyed them

Awww!

fun fact about Spaceballs: in order to make sure that Spaceballs didn't overshadow Star Wars (which it was attempting to parody), nor get sued by George Lucas, Mel Brooks decided to not merchandize the movie, this did not however stop him from using prototypes of merchandise he had made up, in the film, as a wink and nod to this fact (no points for knowing which scene we see these in).

Sometimes context is the key. We were eating pizza the first time we watched the Saint starring Val Kilmer, and coincidentally the next two times after that, so we decided it would forever be our “pizza movie.” I forever associate Tradiac’s son’s burnt face with pizza. And Mel Brooks is always a win.

This joke actually hurts.

oh yeah, Blondie and Coco have a bit of an age gap, don't they? did you ever say how much older Blondie is or is that a detail you haven't quite fleshed out yet?
