Got the Shivers (Disco Elysium fanart)
Added 2022-12-10 03:07:18 +0000 UTCSomething a little different today. So basically one of the only games I played this year was the excellent Disco Elysium. And I loved the game dearly. I thought it was a fascinating experience from start to finish, with some of the most memorable characters of any video game. It’s also a very adult story, and not just cause it has “adult” topics. The way it writes like it’s lived a lot of complicated different lives, and is presenting them to you naked and vulnerable, gives every character a depth that is worth digging into. And it makes you feel closer to the vast, terrible, sometimes awful history of humanity on earth. But also finds time for the wonder and serenity of the little lucky miracles that keep us going. I’m going to think about the game a lot.
Unrelated, today was a lot of boxing and shipping and getting rid of stuff. The move is so far a little rough. But I suppose they all are.
