A friend of mine has been playing Dead or Alive 6. Now it's a series I'm actually rather fond of. I think the characters, male and female, are all very appealing. In 5 and 6 in particular, they dropped the doll like look of the previous games for something a tiny bit more realistic but still stylized. I like them a lot. In particular Lisa Hamilton is very nice. I gotta give her props for being the only dark skinned girl in the entire series too. Namco fighting games have a lot more diversity, while Tecmo tends to cater to their Japanese market. For better or for worse. ANYWAY.
I'd just been wanting to draw Lisa ever since my friend and I started talking about DoA. And I figured, well I'm drawing it for myself so I'm gonna draw her in the stupidest costume available, which is one of the Jewel Bikinis from the Xtreme Beach Volleyball games. This was actually kinda interesting because I got to do a lot of subtle (and not so subtle) secondary motion here. I wanted her to look like she's in the middle of a fight so there's some flow to how she's pictured.
Kinda happy with this, though I feel like the composition could be cooler.

Honestly, kinda same. Haven't picked up a DoA game in a good long while, but I've admired them from afar. Probably falls under the purview of "I stuck at fighting games", but still. Lisa was super cute, really liked her in DOAX. Could never get the other girls to keep the jewel bikinis though, pity. Need to draw Christie though, she's been my #1 fave 20 years running.
