The Big Bug
Added 2020-10-27 10:00:03 +0000 UTCI just REALLY had a hankering to draw a machine of some sort. I hadn't drawn Gunmetal in a little while and I wanted to revisit that world for a second. I think I was partially inspired by this car show I went to. I didn't plan on it, they just happened to setup a whole hot rod and custom car exhibition in the department store parking lot. I just wanted to pick up some groceries! Anyway, the cars looked cool but I didn't stay long. The crowds were too crowded, ya know.
Anyway, for Gunmetal, I always imagined that they traveled around on either some kinda flying ship or roving trawler. Gunmetal and Suzie would travel with a whole crew of mechanics that would be like travelling doctors, going from settlement to settlement and picking up scrap and supplies along the way. And because I didn't want it to be a boring machine, I figured on giving it some subtle animal characteristics. So it's got a rhino beetle horn for a radar dish at the prow.
