It’s been a little while since I’ve drawn some Colette and Rosemary shenanigans. And if you remember from yesterday, I got into a sort of wrestling mood. So here are a few fun pics that form a scene.
I like to think of this as the capper to a rather interesting date between the two of them. Rose was teaching Colette how to take some wrestling moves. I don’t think Rose is an expert so she took this lesson more carefully than the images show. And she had a reward for Colette by the end, for being such a good student.
I don’t think I’ve made it explicit to the character but Colette enjoys stuff like this. In particular the “regular city girl” Colette, where it’s all done safely and stuff. I don’t discuss it a lot because it’s the sort of thing that can spook folks. And it also reads like the artist is just inserting their fantasy girl whose into the same fantasies they are. Well... yeah. That’s true. There isn’t really a lot wrong with that.
Where I find it awkward is when an author says it’s about empowering a character. It’s a tricky space. Personally I think you should be able to do just about anything in fantasy. But it’s when you use fantasy to inform, teach, or promote certain ideas, that it can lead to problems. You certainly should be able to try these things. But I guess what I’m saying is that... I think kinky fantasies are fine. I think more people should be able to explore these things without judgement. But I don’t think it’s necessary to throw these things onto people who don’t like it? Does that distinction make sense?
Well... those are confusing thoughts for 5am. I should be heading off. But before I go, thank you guys for being a patron again this month. The new year’s off to a decent and productive start. And I hope you guys stick around for the whole year!
