Taking the Ride out for a Spin (weird?)

Man... I know I got plenty of fans who tell me I'm not weird. But I would still have a hard time explaining this one to a casual observer. Well, anyway now that we're here. Let's play around with some theoretical world building.

I think in this instance, both Mecha-Colette and Suzie are their own individual characters. Mecha-Colette CAN work without a pilot but isn't quite so effective on her own. Not because her faculties are limited but lets say that Suzie provides extra power through their connections. However when Suzie is inside the Mecha-Colette suit, I think Suzie assumes full control of Mecha-Colette's body. Mecha-Colette isn't just some AI, I imagine she's got some "human" mind in there if not any human parts. But when she's being piloted around, she's subservient to Suzie and acts as an assistant taking commands.

For example Suzie would be piloting all the basic movements like running and jumping and stuff. But if they need a jet boost or an overcharged fist, Colette is the one mentally flipping on the switches. I believe they both need to be together to operate at peak efficiency but in this universe they're capable working apart.

If you were to talk to them, it would be Suzie you're talking to.

Heh, ICS and I are good old friends! He's definitely inspired more than a few of my pieces too.

Ha! So, funny story -- I'd had this ( https://www.deviantart.com/tran4of3/art/MechaletteInsideJoke-sml-516216603 ) as one of my saved favorites forever now, and it only was recently that I went back and realized that it was an homage to your stuff! Small world, indeed.

Perhaps Colette is piloting remotely which results in control lag or poor performance due to signals degradation and Suzie jumps in as required for smooth operation?

B'rye Ahn

I'd read that fanfic

I have a similar character who uses, as she calls it, A Powered Armor. It can move on it's own, but doesn't have any intelligence. I love this

I like all of these ideas about combining their brains but uh I feel like Suzie may be too *occupied* by her interface with Mecha-Colette to function normally

xiakha

Something like Pacific Rim, where two minds synch up. That could work, since they'd probably be much more effective with double the brainpower.

+***************- friggin cat. sorry. --work and take care of yourself!

"I'm not weird" ... now that we got that out of the way, (dad jokes.... amirite) It's a pretty cool idea to have an autonomous shell and a pilot as both characters. Kinda Magical/Techo-Girl style. Maybe together they form a gestalt mind called Suzette. I like it. Colette is basically a brain-on-a-chip (or whatever in universe trope fits) and Suzie has a body plug(s) to merge with them. Maybe they have to be drift compatible? lol. I smell fanfic as always keep up the good wor
