Day Night Cycle

(If you don't see two pics on the patreon app, make sure to refresh and get both pictures when viewing this post.)

When was the last time I drew Rosemary? Last week? Odd, it feels like it was a lot longer than that. I just really like drawing her...

I described her this way to some other fans of attractive lady drawings: " Rosemary, young single mom by day, burgeoning kinkster by night. Equally thirsty for ladies, by the way."

I was sorta thinking about how I draw a rotating cast of characters instead of drawing every new attractive character. I don't begrudge artists that do that. It's both a good way to find new audiences and get out of your comfort zones. Meanwhile, I like returning to favorites. I kinda fall in love with something about them and then expand on them in new drawings. It sorta keeps em alive, ya know, like they get new stories or new looks.

A few artists do that. Some have even made careers doing that! I think of artists like Dean Yeagle and his Mandy. Dean's now this much older grandpa lookin guy, but had drawn Mandy professionally for Playboy years ago. He's still goin around, Drawin Mandy in his old age. I met him and his wife once at a New York Comic-con. They seemed like your normal granma and granpa. Cept, ya know, selling Mandy prints. It's kinda cool.

I'm sure I'll be drawing Rosemary, and Colette, and Ashley, and Hannah for a long time now. And if I'm lucky enough to be 80, I'm sure I'll be drawing that one obscure Batman character from the 2000s era too.

Yeah, I met Dean and his wife at CTN in 2017, they were really cool! Funnily enough, I have a friend who is big fan of his. After chatting for a bit, I knew I had to call them up to see if they wanted anything of his. I ended up buying two of his books for them, and two of his books for me. More relevantly, this is something I think about too, sometimes. Will I still be drawing my OCs by the time I'm his age? I'd like to think so. I'd doubly like to think I'll still be in contact with, and constantly/consistently inspired by the friends I've made in the intervening years. That'd be nice. Seeya in 50, Psu! (well, also, tomorrow/later this week/the next time you post)
