Not the most exciting of posts but I thought that top pic came out pretty good.
I am a LOT better now at anatomy than when I was when I started this year. I'm still not perfect at it but I'm getting a lot more comfortable with it. For one thing, I'm a lot more aware of just how many oblique muscles a human torso has. Before that, I was just sorta winging it based on how many curves I thought I saw!
I'd been investing in more resources looking at how to draw and what to study. And they've been helping a lot. What I need to be doing even more of, is actually sitting down and drawing anatomy and gestures. With the more gestures you do, the more confident you'll be at drawing them. It's just like any activity. No pun intended but a lot of it becomes muscle memory. You draw enough forearms the right way and you'll be able to put them out much more quickly when time demands.
