Kawaii Ash and Rose

This post is an experiment in a couple ways. One, it was following more of those anime style sketches that you guys seem to like. I think I should do a few more of those, but I’m trying to do it in a way that wouldn’t feel very derivative. Copying ”anime style” is kinda risky because certain traits go out of fashion and it locks you into a sort of cartooning that isn’t universally popular. Plus well, I think I like my usual style anyway.

Plus, Kawaii style tends to make everyone look about ten years younger. If only it were that easy in real life...

The next is, this post is LARGELY being done on an iPad. I did the original pencil lines on the desktop but I had Clip Studio automatically send it to my iPad. There I did some quick coloring while on the couch, being relaxed and everything. And then I’m typing preparing this post with the iPad and an attachable keyboard.

The reason for doing this, ultimately, is to see if I can eventually take my work with me. If say, I can do a weekend’s worth of work while away from my system, I’d love to. It’d be nice to be able to do the work while traveling. Or even just doing some work at a cafe or restaurant somewhere.

I dunno, I think I just need to get out of the house more often. Been going a little crazy. And now that the heat has died down, I don’t really have an excuse.

These ladies are just beautiful. So, if you draw me in kawaii style I’ll look tens years younger? Unfortunately I would not look any different. But thank you for blessing us with this loveliness.

I like it!

at least being able to do some work while mobile(ish) is useful. Lets you work outside on the steps/porch/park/whatever for a change of scenery at minimum. Hope it works for you! As always keep up the amazing art! I always snoop through the drop box when you release it (or earlier, haha) for tasty images. A thing to possibly ponder and think-adjacent to: desktop sized images/resolutions? Could be fun, could be a massive pain for all I know.
