"Punk?" Fairbanks
Added 2019-07-04 10:00:01 +0000 UTCI hope people will think she's a cool character. Of all the side characters, I think she's had some of the most development poured into her.
There isn't too much to say on this drawing. I haven't fully decided on the aesthetics of the series but I have come to understand that there are going to be different major factions. The one that Fairbanks belongs to, without spoiling too much, comes out of the Industrial Revolution era. So for me, that means finding fashion choices and tools that wouldn't look out of place at a steampunk convention.
That said, I don't want to follow too closely the conventions of steam punk. I think a lot of what Fairbanks represents is more philosophical, rather than... here's some fancy machinery that will look great on the cover of a book. Though, if I can do both of those things, that wouldn't be so bad a deal.

Looking for something that leans towards steampunk without going all out, the first thing that comes to mind is "The Order: 1886." They have some technologies that fit steampunk but not if I remember right almost no-one is heavily brassed or steamed.
