I started playing Undertale many years ago but I sort of dropped off before I finished it. It wasn't because the game was bad, but because I started saving it for "a time when I really feel like playing it." That however meant I never found the time to play it. I'm realizing I need to make time for these things, instead of just putting them off forever.
Anyway, this was a really fun piece to sketch together. Every now and then I get an idea in my head that's just right for a really impressionistic piece with weird textured brush strokes. Undyne from the "Genocide run" was a good pic. I was really inspired by how that game shifts its story so well, to completely rewrite the narrative for a competitionist player. It makes the "morality" of the game very intriguing. I don't think I have the time to go over it all here, but if you're interested in game mechanics and games as artistic expression, you should absolutely give Undertale some study.
