I actually drew this sketch a while ago and I'm really quite happy with it. I think his face has a life that you sometimes don't see with my more "anime" faces that I draw. Anyway, he's a pretty significant character in the Pretty Julie storyline, being the primary caretaker of Julie. He's actually got a really rich backstory of his own though.

I picture him as like... a "Steve Wozniak" type who worked at a very talented engineer at some fictional version of RCA or Emerson or even GE. He may have been a founder of an Apple like company that went big and bust, or he was ousted for focusing on too nerdy things like ACTUALLY building machines. What he is now, is he keeps his past fame rather low key as he manages a small (but very good) electronics repair shop in town. He and Julie are the only employees though. But they're more a dumping ground for old tech. He's still wealthy, despite having left the company for whatever reason. It's fine though, as whatever company he worked for went through a boom and bust like many American electronics manufacturers who barely made it out of the 90s.

He owns the building his shop is based at, and makes most of the money these days charging cheap rent in what is a quickly gentrifying neighborhood. Again, he's rather "low key wealthy." He hasn't needed the money. He just likes having a place to work on machines in a city he likes a lot.

His store name? It's called "Technoman."
