That Weirdo... (NSFW Lewd)

I've been wondering how best to handle the level of consciousness that the hand has. I want it to be practically it's own person. But how Handy's actually aware of things is a mystery. Is she able to see or sense things around her? Probably if she's able to send text messages without Hannah knowing about them. I want to keep that ability even if it strains plausibility. It's too good a narrative device to not have, and having a phone to keep Handsy occupied wouldn't always be a bad thing.

For realistic plausibility, check out alien hand syndrome: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alien_hand_syndrome There was an episode of House about it that might act as a Cliffnotes version: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Both_Sides_Now_(House) The superest short version is that the limb can appear to act on its own because it is hooked into a somewhat-separate section of the brain that can also intercept/read other senses (sight, sound, etc.) even if not part of the limb itself.

I like to think about it like this: "You know what happens when you explain everything? You get Midichlorians. No one wanted Midichlorians." I mean, you, as the author should have your own explanation if you need it, but its not one we, as the audience needs. But I digress; these are really cool, Psu!
