It's kinda something I'm seeing a lot more of lately. If you go around online and in some circles of pinups and sexy arts, there's a tendency to keep going further and further with some trends than the last guy.
So a trend I've started taking note of, because I feel very "hipster" about it and I liked it before it was cool, were ladies with scars and amputations and have had to get robot limb replacements. I'm not the first, and I would bet Aaron Diaz has a decent claim to popularizing one such character online. And of course other examples existed apart from us.
But I feel like I'm seeing it more now. With girls with giant robot arms finding their way into mass production games and showing up in fan art more and more. ARMS from Nintendo has several with characters getting robot limb replacements.
It's weird for me though cause I know, as much as it's cool to see someone overcoming adversity or improving themselves, I also know there's a big kink factor to it. Loads of people are now embracing that. Which is cool. I don't particularly have an issue with people embracing their kinks. It's better for the market (and probably better for my mental health if more people are okay with the things I do.)
The only reason I'm thinkin' about this a bit more is that there's absolutely this necessity of some parts of the internet to keep taking things further. I mean... it's hard to have imagined the whole pinup and porn drawings of "dullahan" girls becoming a thing online but it doesn't take long to find really popular creators taking these odd ball ideas and making them go farther afield.
