This is silly stuff.
But it goes back to when these two were fanart characters in very awkward scenarios. I always felt a little uncomfortable about that for a number of reasons. I don't really like taking a kids franchise like W.I.T.C.H. and filling the tag with adult art. I thought Alessandro Barbucci's characters were beautiful so I enjoyed drawing them but I wanted to be cautious about posting stuff publicly.
Just taking some of the design elements, changing the characters significantly that they're barely recognizable, helps get past a lot of that discomfort zone. (As well as aging characters up, changing relationships, etc.) I don't really blame anyone who does adult stuff of young people's properties. But I didn't really want myself to become famous for doing that.
It's a little different when the people who grow up with these things, come into their own. Like plenty of kids who say, growing up watching the old Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles still remain attracted to April O'Neil as an adult. But W.I.T.C.H. in particular is a property meant for young girls and I try not to mess with that too much.
That said, divorcing my favorite parts from that fandom and creating OCs feels like I can play around a lot more and create stupid stories much more easily. So now we have "Rosemary" who frequently embarrasses her kid "Ashley" whenever she's back home from college. It's awkward but I hope to play it more for humor where this normal kid is grossed out by her single mom's sexy shenanigans.
Also there's Colette.
