I could mix my own grey paint very well and very subtle adjust the hues using only red, yellow, blue, and white paints. I found the mixing very pleasing and a joy to do, even if what it was all about was creating simple various grey. And as a painter I had an affinity for really simple scenes that were more about light and subtlety and open spaces. If I weren't so fond of cartoons and the pinup drawings, I might've ended up more like Andrew Wyeth than anything.
