FBI: Chapter 198/199

Chapter 198: The First Child of an Angel and a Human

After seeing Teddy and John off, Dante left the Federal Bureau of Investigation Academy.

The subsequent surveillance work was directly handed over to the Internal Affairs Department.

Such a small matter surely wouldn't require him to personally oversee it, right?

What he was more interested in was the origin of this power.

Or what it came from?

With such an unknown power capable of creating life lurking in an unknown corner, Dante always felt a bit uneasy even when sleeping, needing someone to hug him.

Then he opened a portal and arrived in Los Angeles.

Why come to this place?

Because the room key card Ada gave him…

It wasn't for the Hilton Hotel in Washington, but in Los Angeles.

Even booking a room had that distinct FBI Agent flair, emphasizing the unexpected.

However, it was still early, so Dante decided to sit at LUX for a bit.

Thus, his landing spot was in a small alley next to LUX.

After circling to the front, he pushed the door open.

The entire bar was empty at this time, with only Mazikeen idly wiping glasses at the bar.

"Oh, isn't this my favorite demon, Ms. Mazikeen?" Dante sat down at the bar and tapped the counter. "One Tennessee whiskey, with the evil Fire of Hell."

"Sorry, dear human, our bar is only open to demons and sinners from Hell." Maizi rolled her eyes. "If you really want a drink, pour it yourself."

"With your service, you'll go bankrupt sooner or later, losing even your underwear."

Dante pouted, fished an ice ball from the ice bucket, and put it into a glass.

Then he picked up a newly opened bottle of Tennessee whiskey from the counter and poured a full glass.

"Go bankrupt then, we don't rely on this bar to survive anyway."

Mazikeen shrugged, then moved back a step.

As a result, a young man with blond hair and blue eyes crawled out from under the bar counter.

"Thank you for your service, newcomer."

Mazikeen winked, wiped the corner of the young man's mouth, then patted his face, telling him to leave.

"Fresh, good in bed, and not clingy." Mazikeen also picked up a glass and poured herself a vodka. "You humans still have some redeeming qualities, at least in this regard, you're much better than most demons."

"Six." Dante rolled his eyes. "Next time, could you give me a heads-up? Someone suddenly crawling out from under there, I thought you gave birth."

Dante wasn't disgusted by Mazikeen's behavior.

There was nothing he could do, this was her nature.

Demons live true to their desires.

No souls, live for the moment.

This is the commonality of all demons.

Including Lucifer, although he is a fallen Angel, after spending a long time with demons, he has more or less been infected with this habit.

"Alright, Agent Dante of the Federal Bureau of Investigation suddenly gracing our little bar, what for? People like you don't show up without a reason."

"Is it possible that I'm just on vacation and came for a drink?" Dante took a sip of his drink, then asked, "Speaking of which, where's Lucifer?"

"See? You said you had no purpose." Mazikeen pointed to the door. "After all, he's your Federal Bureau of Investigation consultant now. Since yesterday, Lucifer has been out on a case with Chloe and hasn't returned."

"The branch office is even busier than someone from the main office like me?" Dante sighed. "It seems that grassroots work isn't easy."

"Are you some retired high-ranking official who just popped out of nowhere?"

Mazikeen complained.

From a demon's perspective, a powerful being like Dante being so approachable…

It was a miraculous thing.

The two chatted for the duration of two drinks when the door suddenly pushed open.

Dante turned his head, expecting Lucifer to return, but instead, a group of passersby filed in.

All kinds of people.

There were homeless people from the street.

There were office workers in suits and ties.

There were special workers with cheap makeup.

A total of fifty or sixty people entered.

Their only commonality was…

They didn't look like normal living people.

After all, no living person would calmly watch their hand rot halfway and then put the maggots crawling out into their mouth.

And the last person was holding a baby.

A baby enveloped in holy light, with a pair of small wings faintly visible behind him.

Dante looked at Mazikeen, only to find her looking as if she were facing a formidable enemy.

"Are these strange people your acquaintances?"

"Strange and familiar? Yes, no problem. People? Absolutely not." Mazikeen flipped over the bar counter, her hands now holding two claw daggers made of demon metal.

"You scum! Instead of staying put in Hell, you collectively possessed recently deceased people and came to the human world? Do you think I can't control you? Or Lucifer can't control you?"

"We certainly accept the rule of our Lord Lucifer… but the current Lucifer has long lost interest in managing Hell!" The "person" holding the baby stepped forward. "We will enthrone this Angel's child as the new Lord of Hell, allowing Hell to once again become a paradise where we can do as we please!"

Mazikeen frowned.

With the throne of Hell vacant, demons could indeed enthrone a new King and gain authority.

"But you shouldn't have kidnapped Amanadiel and Linda's child." Mazikeen charged forward without hesitation. "They are some of my few friends."

Although these Hell demons were uncoordinated in their initial possession of human bodies, their power was real.

While Mazikeen was almost at the top of the demon hierarchy, these dozens of demons were all high-ranking demons.

So Mazikeen quickly fell into a bitter struggle.

"Dante! Help!" Mazikeen's two fists were no match for a hundred hands, she was punched away by a demon and slid next to Dante. "I beg you… friend."

"See? I told you to go in headfirst." Dante finished his last sip of wine. "If you had asked for my help directly from the start, would I not have helped?"

After speaking, the three Lantern Rings lit up simultaneously.

The combat power of these high-ranking demons was not to be underestimated, if he only used one Lantern Ring, it wouldn't be so easy to deal with them.

Most importantly, the child was still in their hands.

That was the first child of an Angel and a human, if those demons truly used him to usurp the throne of Hell, the human world would undoubtedly suffer a hundred percent.

Something like an indefinite opening of the Hell Gate…

The common people would be utterly doomed.

So it was still…

What obstructs me, soy milk stewed noodles!

Mazikeen looked at the suddenly materialized three-colored giant and breathed a sigh of relief.

This combat power… was he really just a human with the status of an old god?

The high-ranking demons were like insects before the giant, obliterated with a single strike.

Even their remaining bodies were completely incinerated by the crimson blood flame, leaving no ash behind.

Mazikeen also seized the opportunity, rushed forward, and performed a demonic instant hell kill on the high-ranking demon holding the baby.

Then she successfully snatched the baby back, held him in her arms, and gently coaxed him.

Such a tender expression…

Yet it appeared on the face of the female demon who governed Hell's punishments and torments.

Forming a stark contrast with the corpse behind her, which had been flayed into a bloody mess.

Chapter 199: Archangel? Still a lie!

"So, these high-ranking demons were so eager to seize power?"

"Demons, their greatest characteristic is their unwavering loyalty to their own desires, never going against them." Facing Dante's question, Mazikeen answered everything he asked, but because she was holding a baby, her tone was unprecedentedly gentle. "So it's not that they're in a hurry, it's simply their nature."

"But you've long been different from them, haven't you?" Dante shook his head and chuckled. "You still claim you have no soul, yet you haven't realized you've already begun to transcend the demonic realm."

Before Mazikeen could retort, the door opened again.

Lucifer, with his tie and shirt slightly disheveled, walked in behind Chloe.

"Dante, you're actually here?" Lucifer panted as he came to the bar, poured himself a whiskey, and drank it in one gulp before turning around. "I only left for a moment? And you guys created a child?"

"Lucifer, if you keep being so tactless, I'm going to hit you."

Dante rolled his eyes, Chloe was right beside him now.

It was well-known that when Lucifer was near Chloe, he was a mere mortal.

"Mazikeen is a good friend, but her hunting range is too broad, I can't accept that."

"Thank you for the compliment." Mazikeen, holding the baby, bowed slightly, then walked forward and put the baby into Lucifer's arms. "Here, hold him steady."

"Woah, woah, woah! Why would you give me a human infant… Wait, why does he have a pair of Angel wings?" Lucifer complained while clumsily holding the baby. "Is this Amanadiel and Linda's child?"

"That's right, this is your nephew, little Charlie." Mazikeen finished, then flicked little Charlie's big rice grain. "Hey Charlie, meet your scoundrel uncle, Lucifer."

"An Angel and a human actually had a child!" Lucifer didn't even notice Maizi calling him a scoundrel. "Father above, this is insane! Is Linda a descendant of other gods?"

"Is it possible that you Angels could always have children with humans?"

"Then why, after sleeping with so many, has no one gotten pregnant?!"

"How many have you slept with?"

"Since coming to the human world in recent years, probably less than a thousand." Lucifer shrugged. "If only counting biological females."

Dante didn't speak, but Chloe patted Lucifer's shoulder sympathetically.

"So frequently, not taking precautions, yet no one gets pregnant… You should go get a check-up, Lucifer." Chloe didn't take their true words seriously, instead thinking Lucifer had a hidden ailment.

This angered Lucifer so much that he almost dropped little Charlie, wishing he could just drop his pants to prove himself.

"Be careful, don't drop your great-nephew!"

"Are you underestimating Angels too much?" Lucifer said with some disdain. "Even if this infant were abandoned directly in the Amazon rainforest, he would survive just fine."

"Believe me, if you really send your great-nephew to the primitive jungle, you'll have to consider whether your elder brother will spank you."

Dante poked little Charlie's chubby face, teasing.

But no sooner had he spoken than everyone heard Amanadiel and Linda's almost violent voices from outside the door.

"You damned demons! Hand over my son!"

"Yes! That's right! Give me back my son!"

The door of LUX Bar was directly kicked open.

The force was so great that one side of the double door was kicked off.

The Archangel in charge of fury and justice, his rage had reached its peak at this moment…

But upon seeing the scene in the bar, this rage suddenly stopped, neither rising nor falling, making him very uncomfortable.

"Lucifer? Are you holding Charlie?"

"Yes, this little scoundrel with pure white wings looks exactly like his father."

Lucifer quickly handed Charlie to Linda.

"Lucifer, I really don't know how to thank you…"

"Oh, Linda, our relationship doesn't require thanks for something like this… Charlie is my nephew, so this is a family matter." Lucifer finished, then pointed at Dante. "Besides, even if you're going to say thank you, you should say it to Dante."

"Without him, I definitely wouldn't have had the chance to save Charlie," Mazikeen also said from the side.

Upon hearing this, Linda once again put Charlie back into Lucifer's arms, making him flustered.

Then she immediately came before Dante and took his hand:

"Thank you so much, Dante." Linda kept thanking him. "Though I don't know how you did it."

Dante looked at Linda, then at Amanadiel, who was full of remorse after his anger subsided.

"I am Federal Bureau of Investigation Level 7 Agent, Dante. Regarding the authenticity of my identity, Chloe can vouch for me. Saving civilians is my duty." Dante smiled kindly, the Republic person's unique affability made him appear even more approachable. "I heard you are an exceptionally excellent doctor, excellent enough to provide psychological treatment for demons and Angels."

Linda was stunned by Dante's words and subconsciously looked at Lucifer and Amanadiel.

Seeing Lucifer nod, Linda understood.

The Dante before her, even if not a person of God, was a supernatural being.

"Actually, not that excellent…"

"But your work experience is truly outstanding, so I sincerely invite you to join the Federal Bureau of Investigation Academy as a specially appointed psychological counselor for the Federal Bureau of Investigation Academy." Dante's eyes showed sincerity. "You don't need to worry about the benefits, they will definitely exceed your imagination, and most importantly… besides public holidays, all three breaks, spring, summer, and winter, are included, synchronized with the students."

"Linda, I can testify that I was also vetted by Agent Dante to join the Federal Bureau of Investigation." Chloe spoke up in time, raising Dante's credibility to the highest point.

Based on Linda's understanding of Chloe, she was so righteous that she could even forsake her own family for justice. Since she was testifying, it was the most credible.

Just after giving birth, her original schedule as a doctor was already making her too busy.

Amanadiel, let alone, expecting an Archangel to take care of a child?

The benefits were not what she cared about most, after all, as a top professional in her field, she had accumulated a substantial family fortune over the years.

But with all three breaks, the time was simply too generous.

So, without considering for a few seconds, Linda decisively accepted the invitation.

Seeing that Linda had taken the bait, Dante then looked at Amanadiel.

"Mr. Amanadiel, as an Archangel, you don't have a proper job, do you? The Federal Bureau of Investigation Academy's Facilities Department happens to be missing a director. Would you like to consider it? Benefits are the same as above."

"This way, it's also more convenient for the two of you to work together and take care of the child, isn't it?"

Amanadiel was startled, but after glancing at Linda, he immediately nodded.

"I am certainly willing!"

Dante's expression was earnest, but in his heart, he was slyly smiling.

By using two Federal Bureau of Investigation Academy positions, he not only rescued the Federal Bureau of Investigation Academy students from Harley's clutches…

He also directly roped in an Archangel who could manipulate time!

Translate, translate, what does it mean to kill two birds with one stone!
