Chapter 147: Cocoon
"Stop! My ears aren't what they used to be, did you just say Ethan Winters has a child? And you're here to rescue the child?"
"Actually, it's killing two birds with one stone," Leon said, completely relaxed now. After all, he'd been a government agent for many years. "Our original goal was to eliminate these Umbrella Corporation remnants anyway."
After speaking, Leon stepped forward, looked at the strangely shaped Mold Beasts, then crossed his arms and muttered,
"Even though these things aren't as bloody as zombies and Lickers, their twisted nature is even more extreme."
"These things are called E-Mold. Infected individuals will gradually be assimilated into Mold Beasts of varying forms. Unless all the E-Mold within the Mold Beast's body is cleared, or they are burned to ashes, they will still regenerate."
Dante patted Leon's shoulder, his tone filled with a sigh.
These Mold Beasts were the first people from Raccoon City to be infected. Their bodies had completely mutated, and there was no hope of recovery.
Moreover...
Dante actually felt a strong Love Violet Light emanating from these E-Mold mutated Mold Beasts.
But this violet light wasn't born from the Mold Beasts' souls, it came from their blood.
Which was the flowing E-Mold.
In Dante's eyes, these grayish-white Mold Beasts all possessed a vascular nervous system glowing with violet light.
Even though Dante had already mastered the power of three Emotional Spectrums, this was the first time he had seen such a situation.
This was far more absurd than the original story.
"By the way, didn't you enter Raccoon City with the people in the other car? Where are the others?"
Leon's breath hitched, and he said somewhat dejectedly,
"We were originally going to split up, but my car crashed because I was trying to avoid a wild boar that suddenly ran into the street. So, we just continued from where the jeep broke down."
"As for them, they probably planned to go directly to the Raccoon City Police Department first. The reason we entered the underground waterway is because it leads to the Raccoon City Police Department, and we had agreed to meet there."
"Haven't you noticed that any vehicle you ride in basically comes to a bad end?" Dante was truly at a loss for words. This law-level bad luck trait was truly unbelievable. "If I were your leader, I would never let you board an aircraft carrier or a battleship in this lifetime."
Leon was taken aback by Dante's words.
He couldn't help but ask himself a soul-searching question.
Could it be that he really was an unlucky Vehicle Killer?
From the Raccoon City police car and helicopter, to the Spanish jeep and armed helicopter, and now this jeep...
It seemed none had been spared.
And his favorite motorcycle in his daily life also needed minor repairs every three days, major repairs every five days, and a new one every New Year and holiday. Half of his salary was thrown into it!
The more he thought about it, the more Leon felt he had discovered the truth.
"But don't be too hard on yourself... You're just a Vehicle Killer, there's also a divine being who's a teammate killer."
"Alright, no time to lose. Let's quickly head from the underground waterway to the Raccoon City Police Department. Besides resolving the Resident Evil incident, my other mission this time is to make sure you old farts don't die here."
...
The former Umbrella Corporation underground facility.
This place, abandoned for a full seven years, had now been completely renovated.
Oswell Spencer, in a wheelchair, was pushed by a person wearing a black priestly robe, with ten pairs of wings on his back, and a halo-like ring growing above his spine, to a giant observation window.
"Teacher, every time I see you, I feel so miraculous... I am old and frail, but you are exactly as you were back then."
"Spencer, all of this is a gift from the Mold Master."
"Such primitive E-Mold, yet it's even more powerful and effective than the viruses Umbrella Corporation has researched and derived for many years using advanced technology... It seems I should have stayed by Teacher's side back then to continue researching the Mold Master."
The woman pushing Spencer's wheelchair was called "Teacher" by him.
She was Mother Miranda, who currently held the highest authority over the Mold Master and could control all E-Mold infected individuals.
This woman, who had lived for over a hundred years thanks to the Mold Master and yet her appearance remained unchanged, had even dealt with Doctor Doom due to geographical issues.
Compared to the viruses in the various Resident Evil series, E-Mold was even more ancient, and its style was more fantastical.
To enhance E-Mold's infectivity, Mother Miranda created a parasite called "Gift" using E-Mold as a base.
Those who received the "Gift" would gain certain special powers through mutation.
And Mother Miranda herself, as the highest authority chosen by the Mold Master, could even assimilate others' DNA and transform into their appearance.
It was under these circumstances that Ethan Winters lived with Mother Miranda for a week.
And this woman's purpose was to successfully kidnap Ethan Winters' daughter.
Because his daughter was the best vessel for Mother Miranda to resurrect her own daughter, Eva.
"Teacher, I have already dispatched the Four Lords to deal with our old friends who have infiltrated Raccoon City."
After Spencer finished speaking, he and Mother Miranda looked down from the high observation window.
The "Mold Master," which originally existed deep within the cave, was now lying at the bottom of the facility, continuously producing E-Mold.
But this Mold Master was quite different from the Mold Master he had seen back then.
If the original Mold Master was a giant black fungus, then the current Mold Master looked more like a purple cocoon, glowing with violet light.

Chapter 148: How Can a Girl Always Lose!
Raccoon City Police Department.
"West Office, clear."
"East Office, clear."
"Archives and Command Center, clear."
"Press Room and Lounge, clear."
"Alright, gather in the lobby."
Soon, four people gathered in the center of the first-floor lobby of the police station.
It was Ethan, Chris, Jill, and Rebecca, all fully armed.
"After so many years in bio-terrorism countermeasures, this is the first time I've encountered a situation without zombies or Lickers."
Jill tossed her golden hair that could no longer return to its original color, her tone filled with unprecedented curiosity.
When she and Chris were pursuing Wesker a few years ago, they had crashed off a cliff with Wesker, seemingly perishing together.
But she was taken away by Wesker and subjected to viral alterations. However, due to a mutation of the T-virus within her body, she gained immense power and a head of golden hair.
It wasn't until Wesker inexplicably died in Westchester County, America, some time ago that she was rescued during a BSAA operation.
Although she had endured much inhuman torture, and the BSAA's psychological evaluation team believed she should continue to rest, she still insisted on following Chris here.
This was the beginning of her nightmare.
She wanted to personally eradicate the source of the nightmare.
And her reason for convincing Chris was simple.
She was now the strongest person in the entire BSAA, bar none.
Jill, who had transformed with the power of various viruses, was now a human-shaped Tyrant. The Nemesis who had chased her like a dog back then, she estimated she could now directly tear apart with her bare hands.
"So, you really have been resting for a long time," Rebecca patted Jill's shoulder. "I envy your current hair color. If I wanted to dye it like that, I'd probably have to bleach my hair until it looked like dead grass."
"If I had a choice, I'd still prefer my original appearance."
Jill shrugged, then looked at Ethan Winters, who still had a worried expression.
"Ethan, as a BSAA system engineer, we're old acquaintances. Just relax, we'll definitely rescue Mia and Rose."
"Thanks for the good wishes," Ethan forced a smile. "How long do we have to wait here?"
"Leon and the others will come directly from the underground waterway. If there's no obstruction, they should arrive very soon," Chris shook the communicator in his hand, which had already become a brick. "The communicator is out of order. Umbrella Corporation probably has some tricks up their sleeve this time. It seems they've indeed teamed up with those guys from the village."
They had also seen many Molded on their way.
Although they weren't particularly strong, their peculiar distortion left a deep impression on Chris.
"Did you encounter this kind of thing at the Baker house three years ago?"
"That's right, Molded, products of E-Mold," Ethan shook his head. "But we got intelligence that these Molded and infected individuals who haven't yet transformed into Molded will recover completely, no matter how severely injured, by the next day. This I have never heard of."
Ethan was very certain that this time, the Molded were definitely off.
The biggest problem with his nightmare night at the Baker house was actually insufficient firepower.
Both the Molded and father-in-law Jack Baker only hunted him, who was unarmed.
And didn't even succeed in killing him.
If he had had this entire set of standard Delta Force single-soldier equipment back then, how could he have been in such a sorry state?
When Ethan mentioned Molded, Chris's gaze toward him became complex.
Because after the BSAA rescued Ethan back then, they had already conducted a comprehensive examination and research on him.
The conclusion was…
Ethan was already dead.
The current him was merely a human-shaped Molded born from Ethan's corpse, possessing all of Ethan's memories and emotions.
Only he, Rebecca, and Barry Burton, who was commanding the BSAA in his place, knew about this.
Even Jill was unaware.
And Rebecca at this moment also showed a look of regret and pity, letting out a silent sigh.
But in the vast police station, several footsteps suddenly echoed.
"Alright, alright, your reunion, you commoners, ends here. Next, you only need to act as a flock of silent lambs, offering your necks to be slaughtered."
A seductive and cruel noblewoman's voice emanated from the corridor at the end of the lobby.
No sooner had the voice fallen than a noblewoman in a simple long dress was seen bending to pass through the door frame, which was over two meters tall.
And when she straightened up, even more striking than her beautiful face was her nearly three-meter height.
"Whoa, whoa, whoa, neither the Tyrant I encountered in the mansion back then, nor the Nemesis I faced, were this exaggerated in height, right?"
Jill stood up from the table in shock, then subconsciously looked at herself again.
Exaggerated!

"Alcina Dimitrescu… She can be confirmed as one of Mother Miranda's Four Lords."
"Hehehe, what about us?"
What followed was an overwhelming swarm of flies, which then divided into three parts, gradually coalescing into three young women, equally pale but beautiful, like Lady Dimitrescu.
Jill looked down again, then proudly straightened her back.
How can a girl always lose!
