FBI: Chapter 145/146

Chapter 145: Don’t Remind Me of That Female Devil!

Raccoon City was actually a good place to live, with beautiful scenery, fresh air, and no heavy industry.

Of course, the premise was that you could accept it had suffered the most severe Resident Evil incident in history.

And in fact, many people didn't care about this. In America, many even believed Resident Evil didn't exist, but was a conspiracy by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and a means to control the people.

At least, that's what the Rising Tide's conspiracy theories claimed.

That's right, it was the hacker organization Skye was initially part of, but under the FBI's crackdown, hackers in Rising Tide without criminal records were recruited by the Bureau, while those who used their hacking skills for illicit gains ended up in prison as they deserved.

Today's Rising Tide is just a conspiracy theory marketing account.

Of course, these were not the main reasons.

The most important reasons were… low land prices, housing prices, and commodity prices.

These were all preferential policies from the American Government for Raccoon City, and with them, they gained enough reputation and votes from the relatives of the Raccoon City victims back then.

Under these circumstances, although Raccoon City had not truly recovered to its former level of over one hundred thousand residents, there were still forty to fifty thousand people.

And what was originally a peaceful city, now at night…

It completely changed.

Craving family, craving love.

Originally rational humans all transformed into Beasts obeying their desires at night.

Young men and women bit each other, flesh and blood flying, not even noticing if they bit off the other's tongue.

It didn't matter, the next day they would all return to normal.

Bereaved couples tied strong young men into their homes, then made them a good meal, ingredients unknown but exceptionally fresh.

It didn't matter, the next day they would all return to normal.

Everyone was sinking into such a hell, unaware, letting their desires expand without limit.

It didn't matter, the next day they would return to normal.

Except for the purple ripples in their eyes.

On a street on the outskirts of Raccoon City, a portal suddenly opened.

Dante led all the standby team members into Raccoon City.

"I'll emphasize the key point of this mission again. Everything is focused on finding those reckless intruders and ensuring their safety. Conventional lethal force is allowed against the infected… So Harley, there's a reason I didn't let you bring those light pulse blast guns and individual thermal ray rifles from the Airbus."

"Light pulse blast guns? Thermal ray rifles?" Coulson looked at Dante in confusion. "Aren't these all experimental products from Sandbox? Where did you get them?"

"Dante, are we good brothers?"

"If you, this balding middle-aged man, are comfortable calling me, a twenty-five-year-old young man, brother, then I have no problem."

"After we go back, give me some of these weapons. With your team's configuration, these are completely useless. They're not worth it for minor things, and useless for major ones."

"Your abacus beads are almost bouncing off my face! But when have you ever seen me spit out something I've eaten? Even Thor's father, Odin, can't do that!" Dante smiled confidently. "But we can ask Fury for another batch."

After the two team leaders decided on a cooperation plan to scam Fury, they finally got back on track.

Although it was night, the bright streetlights allowed everything to be seen clearly.

Not far away, a military jeep was burning fiercely.

As expected, when Dante and Coulson approached, they found that it was one of the two jeeps that had broken through the blockade and entered Raccoon City.

Dante's mouth twitched.

He was one hundred percent sure this was definitely the one Leon S. Kennedy was riding in!

Damn it! This Vehicle Killer trait is really effective!

Damn it, after this mission is completed, if I draw a reward, I hope I don't draw something similar!

Thinking of this, Dante couldn't help but feel conflicted.

These people, they're both jinxing teammates and jinxing vehicles, is there no end to it?

"This jeep should be the trespassing vehicle, right?"

"That's right, Coulson, but the other jeep wasn't found." Ada walked around the jeep twice, then said, "This is a jeep, not a troop carrier. It's too cramped for seven or eight people, especially since they brought a lot of weapons and equipment… So they most likely split up."

"You mean, one team infiltrated on foot from the outskirts, and the other went directly into the city center?"

"Based on my understanding of Leon S. Kennedy and Claire, they would do that."

Dante listened to Ada's analysis from the side, and that "split up" face kept inexplicably appearing in his mind.

Especially the look in Ada's eyes when she mentioned them, Dante saw it very clearly.

It was "interesting."

"Uh, Ada, what happened between you and Leon S. Kennedy and Claire back then?"

"Oh, Dante, are you jealous?"

"Don't be silly, I'm not an idiot. That was clearly the look a little girl gets when she talks about an interesting toy she used to play with!"

"Stepping onto the land of Raccoon City after seven years, I can't help but think of that female devil who played with people's hearts!"

Leon said so.

In the underground sewers of Raccoon City, Leon, Claire, and Sherry Birkin were all dressed in military combat uniforms, fully equipped with long and short weapons and ammunition, moving forward with their tactical flashlights.

Their speed was not slow, but they tried to suppress their footsteps as much as possible.

Although they didn't know if there would be danger in the underground sewers, it was always right to be careful.

And when Claire heard what Leon said, her thoughts couldn't help but drift back seven years ago…

Then a chill ran down her spine.

"That's right, Ada Wong, I can never forget her in my life!"

Although Sherry had experienced the Raccoon City incident with them seven years ago, at that time she was only twelve years old, and most of the time she was imprisoned by that perverted Police Chief.

So she didn't understand what happened between them and the "female devil" they spoke of.

But the name Ada Wong, she was very familiar with it.

That was the adjutant of the FBI's Star Team!

She was the idol of countless female Agents!

She was no exception, of course.

But her idol, in the mouths of Leon and Claire, who were like both parents and older siblings to her, was actually a female devil?

And judging by their tone, it was definitely not a compliment!

Just as she was about to speak up for her idol, Leon, who was leading the way, suddenly showed a tactical hand signal to stop.

"Ahead… there's something."

Chapter 146: Long Story

The three immediately held their breath, raised their HK416 assault rifles, and aimed at the corner ahead.

Then…

"Click."

The sound of a pin being pulled rang out ahead, exceptionally clear in the silent underground waterway.

"Grenade! Take cover!!"

As he finished speaking, he immediately ran towards the corner behind him.

But the opponent had no intention of letting them go, directly releasing the safety lever in his hand, delaying for a second before throwing it into the air.

It bounced off the dome of the underground waterway, ricocheting in front of the three.

At this moment, the flashbang detonated.

The blinding light, enough to temporarily blind a person, lit up. Even the battle-hardened Leon didn't manage to completely avoid it. He only had time to push Claire and Sherry away, still suffering some effects himself.

If exposed to a flashbang at close range without protection, it would take at least a day or two for the visual system to fully recover.

And now it would probably take about ten seconds.

"Damn it! It's a flashbang! Claire! Sherry! How are you… Pfft!"

Leon's instinctive words of concern for the two were cut short as he was forcibly pressed onto the cold ground of the underground waterway.

"Oh, Leon, we meet again."

"…Holy crap! Why is it you again, you demoness!"

Leon's hair was practically a bird's nest from panic!

"What if it is me? This time you've returned to Raccoon City in groups. Do you think a few of you can resolve this incident yourselves?"

"No comment on this matter! You woman who works for Umbrella Corporation!"

"Then aren't you afraid I'll just kill you?"

"Then you'd best act fast, you fake FBI agent!"

"I am indeed not an FBI agent." Ada Wong directly flipped Leon over, then placed her FBI ID in front of his nearly recovered vision. "But I am now a Level 4 Elite Agent of the General Bureau, and after this quarter's headquarters accounting, based on the completion of missions during this period, I estimate I'll skip the originally planned Level 5 Agent and directly be promoted to Level 6."

Leon struggled to sit up, coughed a few times, and then continued:

"Who knows where you got another fake ID."

"No, Leon, she is indeed a Level 4 Agent of the FBI, I can guarantee that." Sherry, who had been pushed away by Leon, hurried forward and saluted Ada, then said, "FBI Provisional Agent Sherry Birkin reporting to you, Officer."

Ada looked up at the young girl with short platinum hair.

Seven years ago, she had glimpsed this girl from afar, but at that time, Sherry was just a frail twelve-year-old loli, completely different from the determined-eyed girl in front of her now.

"Ada Wong… you've actually transformed into an FBI Agent now?"

Claire was somewhat incredulous. Although that demoness back then, from the final outcome, did indeed help her and Leon, she didn't treat them as burdens at all.

But she didn't treat them as people either.

"Claire, why do you and Leon sound so resentful when you see me?" Ada walked forward and used Dante's Magnum to lift Claire's chin. "Factually speaking, it wouldn't be an exaggeration for you two to call me Teacher, would it?"

When Leon and Claire heard the word "Teacher," their hearts were already filled with tears, goddammit.

Pulling the alarm to attract zombies for them to practice shooting.

Dashing movements to lure the Tyrant in front of them to train their courage.

The most outrageous part was when they encountered William Birkin infected with the G-virus, she told them to use a steel pipe to stab that big eyeball on his shoulder!

What kind of good person teaches like that!

But in these seven years, both of them had cursed Ada ten thousand times in their hearts, yet they had to admit that in that urgent and dangerous situation, she did enable them to gain the ability to protect themselves and even solve problems in the fastest possible time.

Especially Claire, who was originally just a motorcycle girl, after nearly two days of hellish training, she directly evolved into a master of headshots.

Human potential…

Is truly incredibly miraculous.

"Can you two stop reminiscing about the glorious past for a moment…" At this point, the most reliable one was nineteen-year-old Sherry. "Since Agent Ada Wong is here, it means Star Team has been deployed. And Star Team's deployment means… this matter seems to be quite serious."

"The young girl is right, this time, you've gotten yourselves into big trouble. Follow me." Ada put away her gun, turned around, and returned the way she came, continuing as she walked. "Every single one of you basically has an official identity, either high-ranking BSAA officials, or direct Agents of the American Government, and there's even an FBI Provisional Agent among you. What in the world possessed you to forcefully break through A.R.G.U.S.'s blockade and enter Raccoon City?"

"This matter is a long story."

Leon sighed, just about to start explaining, when he arrived at the corner where Ada had appeared…

Dozens of Fungal Beasts were piled up motionless here, and several people in strange uniforms stood there.

Perhaps these were the so-called peacekeepers? Or Superheroes?

But fortunately, there were still two normally dressed people: a balding middle-aged man in a suit, and a Republic Person in black combat fatigues.

And that Republic Person looked up, revealing a kind and benevolent smile.

"Since it's a long story, make it short."

Sherry excitedly poked Leon in the lower back, then whispered, "This is Captain Dante of Star Team, a Level 7 Agent of the FBI! The absolute authority on supernatural events!"

"Uh, so young… Alright, Officer, it's like this."

Leaving aside how obviously formidable this group of people in front of him was, just the authority of a Level 7 Agent of the FBI was immeasurably higher than his as a CIA Agent.

Calling him "Officer" was no problem at all; his rank was sufficient to command him across agencies, and his leaders, even the President, couldn't find fault with it.

So Leon boldly chose to tell the truth.

"At first, we were all just investigating biohazard incidents individually, but ultimately, the different incidents in our hands all pointed to the same place… a certain village in Romania."

"But before we could go there, they entered America via a Latveria cruise ship."

"Then, while we were jointly analyzing intelligence, we encountered a man named Ethan Winters, who was an acquaintance of Chris, and he asked us…"

"To rescue his wife and child from those biohazard fanatics."

"But A.R.G.U.S. has already notified all organizations of the ban on Raccoon City."

"There was nothing we could do, so we just had to come ourselves."
