David Murray makes me sad, he might be one of the more tragic characters in FNAF and that’s saying a lot. Not only does his mother die when he’s very young, but his mother is also replaced by his father via M1

Edwin basically neglects David, too busy with his work to be at his birthdays, or to play with him, gets him a lot of toys but it’s all things to distract him. So David seemingly grows an attachment to M1, his basically new mother. Drawing photos of them, he probably hung out more with M1 than Edwin. Then it happens, his ball bounces off, Fiona’s hand writing across it, last thing he has of her, so of course he runs after it, and most likely gets hit by a loading bay truck. Dying literally on his birthday.

Edwin then, upon his death, makes the mimic into him, storing M1 into the F1ON4 machine, and creating M2, suppose to replicate David. Then Edwin, abuses it, breaking its legs and handing it underground. Meanwhile actual David, haunts his plush doll Tiger.

M2 was just a kid, maybe not actually David, but still programmed to be a child, to be David. The secret ending shows us exactly how M2 was before Edwin did what he did. It’s tragic, I feel bad for both the mimic and David for what happened to them.

I wanted to make a little comic about David and the Mimic here, in a sense they fuse into one. M1 giving up their body to make M2, to have their son. It’s poetic and understated sadness in this game. Just a kid, now a monster. Definitely going to do more comics on M2 soon, the story in SOTM is good but man it hurts BAHA anyway!! I hope you enjoy this comic!! 🩵💜
