Gregory is innocent (mini comic #637)
Added 2025-07-01 17:00:11 +0000 UTCI’m almost certain now that Gregory did not in fact, drop Cassie down an elevator.. my boy was framed!! He did no wrong,, and SOTM told us the actual answer
In SOTM we learn that Dispatch, once we entered the manor, was taken over and mimicked by M1, also known as F1ON4. We learn M1 uses the cameras to watch us, right next to the F1ON4 machine is a camera with a lil orange light coming off of it. These cameras even are all over the Manor, M1 always watching
So if we cut back to Ruin, in the elevator ending, Cassie gets into the elevator, Gregory talks to us over the intercom, BEFORE having a slight cut and suddenly he’s saying he can’t let us out, and drops the elevator. That cut must have been M1 cutting in, Cassie shut down MXES which must have woken you M1. M1 couldn’t let Cassie leave, cause they didn’t want an opening for M2 (The mimic) to leave too. The key thing here is, in the elevator is a camera pointed right at Cassie with a small orange light. Just like the F1ON4 ones. I even think the bad end IN SOTM purposefully mimics the elevator ending, even down to using similar lines. I’m certain M1 cut grgeory off, mimicked his voice, and as the actual one to drop the elevator
This is technically just a theory (haha) but I also feel like this was always obvious. Since ruin even I had a feeling the mimic was the actual one to drop Cassie’s elevator, BUT NOW post SOTM it’s way more clear. I really hope Cassie is okay cause this means Gregory might lose his best friend, and I can’t handle that, HE ACTUALLY really wanted to help Cassie out of there. Was just a little too late. Whenever we get back to the ruin era, I’ll definitely be very curious how the story will progress, cause SOTM made things a lot more interesting,, guess we gotta wait and see, anyway!! I’ve been a believer of this theory since day 1! And people called me crazy smh 😭 And SOTM was definitely the slam dunk on this for me. With everything that we were shown I would be genuinely shocked if it was truly Gregory who dropped Cassie There’s also another possibility for it being the Mimic (and this was the OG idea I was going with before SOTM). And that is the fact that the Mimic is literally standing right next to the elevator controls and was both smart enough to and fully capable of sabotaging them. Because I think it’s also equally possible that sabotaging the elevator would actually help it escape rather than hindering it. And seeing as it seems to display the capabilities of both M1 (mimicking voices, controlling/seeing certain systems or aspects of the building) and M2 seen in SOTM, it would be very possible for it to pull this off Just some thoughts lol! (Which man do I have so many of rn, I really need to write them down somewhere ha)
