I’m so curious how the Murray’s lived after Fiona passed away.. we know the mimic was made pretty soon after Fiona’s passing, Edwin making them to be a new babysitter for David

But we also see in the tape where David gets a playground, that M1 by then was talking like Fiona and pretending to be her. So that means for like two to three years, M1 was just Fiona. Edwin and David both seemingly accepting that too, as David is at first scared of the mimic, but then learns to accept them as their mom.

We even get tapes just between M1 and Edwin, where M1 urges Edwin that he can’t tell anyone about their relationship just yet, cause they wouldn’t understand. All of this gives me real chills, like it makes my mind run wild. All the implications with this set up, did the M1 sleep in bed with Edwin… did they wear Fiona’s clothes at all, did Edwin ever kiss them on the cheek. Did David even know that M1 wasn’t really Fiona, or were they convinced that was still his mom?

The horror of the Murray’s situation is so subtle, so quiet, you don’t notice how messed up it really is until you linger more on it. For 2 years they were all in this delusion, and after David passes, you can hear Edwin leave it. He curses himself that M1 was never actually Fiona, and M2 wouldn’t never actually be David.. and yet he still makes David again. It’s crazy GENUINELY wild, I just wonder how far this family dynamic they had went.. so this comic is kinda a reflection of it. David going to his “mom” and asking for a story,, M1 awake and sitting up in bed, wearing Fiona’s nightgown, sleeping next to Edwin in bed. Edwin’s room filled with reminders of Fiona.. it’s a normal scene of a normal family. I’m probably going to do more mimic horror, and just generally exploring the Murray’s deal, so I hope you enjoy this comic!! 🩵💜
