The story of Edwin and Fiona truly just breaks my poor heart, they really were in love. You can really tell in the tapes, only for Edwin to get blinded by his own desire to create something as good as the clean o vac again
Then before he knew it she was gone, and he was left alone to raise David. He put her in everything he did, his commercials, his characters and creations, has her jewelry, her looks and her voice. He literally can’t outrun his own wife’s voice, his grief turning into him making the mimic, something he made for David, into another Fiona to replace her.
That shot of M1 holding the cake in the reels is one of those moments that stunned me to my core. It’s so horrific and tragic, Edwin loved his wife, and the grief made him do awful things. The whole story of the Murray’s truly makes me tear up, it’s so good. I thought the song “Silver springs” really fit them, especially the lyrics I chose “you’ll never get away from the sound of the women that loves you” and it’s true. Edwin couldn’t outrun her voice, her memory, totally haunted by her. I’m sorry in advance with how many comics I’ll probably do on the Murray’s tragedy but truly can’t help it. It’s too peak to not talk about and examine as much as I can, anyway!! I hope you enjoy this comic!! 🩵💜
