Tariffs are interfering with your erotica.
Added 2025-08-08 03:30:00 +0000 UTCThat isn't a political statement, it's just a simple fact. The reality is that my day job is involved in international trade and logistics, and I've been working crazy hours since the new IEEPA tariffs went into effect earlier this year. Executives want to know how bad things are going to get (even though there's no way of knowing what further hells are coming down the road). They want to know how much money has already been paid, how much they can get back through Duty Drawback, Post-Summary Corrections, and 520(d) claims. And they want all that information NOW.
Things slowed down for a bit in June, and I started writing again, but Aluminum, Steel, and now Copper tariffs and their insane calculus started taking up all of my time. Re-routing global shipments so they don't come into the U.S. anymore is a pain. Applying for various Free Trade Agreements are a bureaucratic nightmare. Getting Post-Summary Corrections on entries cost both money and time. The newly modified Reciprocal tariffs going into effect today made everything more complicated. And hey, Semiconductor 100% tariffs are on the horizon. Joy.
So the good news is that I'm healthy, all is well with my family, and I still have a burning passion to write again.
The bad news is that I find myself working really late hours communicating with colleagues all over the world, which doesn't lend much time (or energy) for writing.
I WILL finish The Blue Dragon.
Eventually.
I WILL start writing BTC 3.0.
Eventually.
And no, I haven't forgotten about Brooke and DJ. ;-)
Take care y'all. Be kind to each other.
