Sa'ahn (Satanya)

"Heir to Soddorom", "Scion of Catabasa", "Legacy of the Kaechulugg Empire"...

Such are the titles many of Soddorom's blustering children give to themselves, though none have earned it.

The System Lord has not sired children in more than a thousand years. So his progeny is genetically engineered and artificially inseminated in his Kajare. Some as punishment, some out of twisted love. Geneticists are brought in from across the Galaxy and tasked with producing a superior heir for Soddorom.

A mere clone would not suffice. His son would be "pure" Kaechulugg. Undiluted by millennia of procedures and genetic tampering to extend his species' lifespan until all traces of their original form that made the Galaxy theirs were no more. His son would belong to that species, not the bloated useless husk it became.

Attempts to reconstruct the genetic code, to imbue them with gap-heavy genes of Kaechulugg God Kings, splicing the strengths from other alien species to compensate all resulted in mutants, mutts, and monsters. No "pure" Kaechulugg worthy of the highest seat in Pirate Space.

Though exalted with the blood of the great Soddorom, they live as petty warlords in neighboring systems, given titles and ranks out of pity, all competing for their father's approval and lusting for all he possesses. Living as he does with half the restraint and none of the wits.

Not Sa'ahn.

She was born on the moon of Ruscronar, the latest in a line of selectively bred donors and breeders, compensating for the genetic blood with generations of natural births leading up to her mother. She was cast aside in favor of her male siblings, and trained as a weapon in secret by those who bred her into the world.

While her brothers would prove to be failures, she would continue to prove her worthiness as a Kaechulugg, and everything their race embodied: their strength, cunning, and beauty. Serving who she believes to be a benevolent God King, protecting his grateful worlds from unwise System Lords and the tyrannical Allied Empire. Though she'd never have the honor of meeting him face to face, she could still ensure his continued rule and maintain peace throughout his systems. Not knowing his true nature nor the suffering his agents perpetuate on his seized planets.

Sa'ahn's carnage reminded Soddorom of the mythologized youth of the Kaechulugg. In a move that has shocked his closest subordinates, Soddorom, in secret, has named Sa'ahn as his heir should his next batch of sons fail to impress. She was the true prodigy, "pure Kaechulugg" in Soddorom's eyes, the making of a true conqueror worthy of his throne.

In truth, Kaechulugg only makes up less than 13% of her genetic make-up, with her closest species being Narn at 26%, descending from Soka K'oddorom, one of Soddorom's favorites. Making her the furthest of all her siblings to fall from the proverbial tree.
