The couple thought they reached the summit of their success working for the great Kaechulugg System Lord himself. That was until they were discovered by Federation authorities and abandoned about half their payload of untraceable Brutonian weapons on the streets of Uhraan.
They claimed they were on their way to make amends with the System Lord, but one of Soddorom’s Bounty Hunters was waiting for them at the mouth of an Allied Galactica slingspace pad.
With the threat of a cold death in space, they charted a course to Catabasa, the bounty hunter tailing them all the way. And there, Soddorom made a bargain to work off their debt.
Now, the System Lord has what he wanted the whole time: a smuggler motivated to take on the riskier jobs in Kennex, and a fine piece of ass as a faith payment in Janna. Serving the Palace as a Cooja (Chuluggi for "shamed"). As cautionary tale to all smugglers in Soddorom's employ as she keeps drinks filled, and quenches any other desires his guests have.

2022-11-19 23:03:11 +0000 UTCIt might if he did it frequently. But a ruthless System Lord has to remind his staff, especially freelancers who he pays well, not to cross him. He has a reputation for being inventive with punishments to maintain, after all. So with a bit of distortion of the narrative ("they gave our weapons to the Uhraani then tried to hop systems"), he gets what his perverted heart desires, and a man for some suicide missions as part of the bargain. The cautionary tale aspect is gravy.
