Wow, I did not know that about Thailand. It is an issue, though know Markus, I figure that breaking a housing law like that would be an easy thing for him to get around. 😆 Also, that’s so cool you got to go to Thailand, Marcwolf! 😊 It must have been so much fun to visit that country, & I’m happy you enjoyed yourself and made friends. It’s been an amazing time writing this story series, and you’re right that it’ll be nice to check in on Cherry & Markus. Hopefully, I can craft a second series for them taking place a couple years in the future. Until then, I feel it’s a good spot to end their story here for now. 2025-01-31 19:16:03 +0000 UTCGreat finish.. But one minor issue. I was considering retiring to Thailand and non Thailand people cannot purchase land there. Is it possible however to get a lawyer to set up a company in Thailand, purchase the property, and then lease it at a very nice rate to the foreigner. Likewise - food in Thailand is cheap. There are hundreds of small stalls, vendors etc that you can buy noodles for a matter of cents. I stayed in Bangkok for several weeks for work and the local markets are just filled with goodies.. unless you are like me and cannot tolerate spices. Agreed - saying anything against the Monarchy is taboo.. but that is an easy law to adjust to. The monarchy is well loved anyway. If you are polite and respectful to the locals - and greet them with an honest open smile - you can never go wrong. I have so many fond memories of my weeks there. Being someone who loves to fully immerse myself in the local customs and people it was only a couple of days till the locals were calling me by name and trying to bridge the language barrier. Sadly my boss could never bridge his racism and so had to stand and watch me gaining friends and being invited to meals with them. But - fantastic finish. I am so glad that things came together for them. Perhaps - we can peek in and see how they are going once in a while. Again thanks. Marc
