What movie scene scared you as a little kid?

I wasn’t immune to watching films that had dark themes or scenes in them. If I had to pick and choose the different choices though, I would have to make it a tie between two scenes from “Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory” and “Indiana Jones & the Temple of Doom”. I think you can figure out which infamous scenes I’m referring to, but in case you don’t…

In “Willy Wonka”, I was absolutely terrified of the tunnel scene, after Augustus Gloop’s song. Between the ominous rhyme/shouting from Wonka, the disturbing image free shown to the contest winners, and the fact that to this day I still have no idea what relevance the scene has to the rest of the film (you could easily cut it out and you wouldn’t miss a thing; Hell, you don’t. One of my friends from England has stated they actually do that whenever the film is shown on television), it left me almost traumatized as a little boy. I still loved the movie but whenever that scene popped up I would always skip immediately to when they get off of the boat and explore the rest of the factory. I still can’t watch that scene, it’s disturbing.

Speaking of which, “Temple of Doom” also traumatized me as a little boy with the infamous scene of Mola Ram pulling a still-beating heart from a human sacrifice strapped to a rig, then we and Indiana Jones get to see said sacrifice helplessly TV lowered down into a pit of lava while the villain holds the burning heart. I have no idea how the film is still considered PG nowadays, and from what I heard, there was an addition to this scene that would have guaranteed the movie would be rated R; The actor who played the human sacrifice in the film said in an interview that there was an extended cut where his burnt face would be shown floating in the lava. In order to keep “Temple of Doom” from having an R-rating, the gory clip was permanently deleted from the final cut. Seriously, I still can’t believe that Steven Spielberg made such a dark scene for a dark movie. XD
