What influenced your fursona? Your username?
Added 2024-04-12 21:38:08 +0000 UTCAs furries, most of us identify ourselves through our fursonas. A good portion of the time, it's based on our favorite animal(s) while growing up. For me, my favorite animal has to be the Timber Wolf, and the movie that influenced me the most in my fursona has to be "Balto". My first drawing of my fursona actually was a feral template I grew back in early high school, when I was only just discovering the furry fandom as well as trying to make a writing pseudonym for myself. Attached is that same drawing (credit goes to FlareAndIcicle for the template I used back then) I made all those years ago. :)
Fun fact: 'Domus Vocis' was chosen because I wanted it to mean 'the voice of home' in Latin. However, I didn't get the grammar right, and it's stuck. XP

Hmm. Now remember I have had a 'Fursona' since 1974. In truth I feel more of a Therian than a Furry. Having a Fursuit just lets that side of me out and interact with others. Plus my suit is very realistic so it suites both avenue. Marcus - My Therian/Spirit side has been with me almost all of my life - so that is nearly 63 years. As he is a wolf it gets shortened to MacWolf :) Likewise where other people go through a range of Fursona's etc.. I have only had one. I could tell you some tales of my first foray on to the Net and IRC - as a 7' tall anthro wolf type that will have some laughs. Marc is a very laid back spirit - very curious but also more of an 'Uncle' wolf - watched the cubs etc. He has come to consider humanity as a kind of extended pack.. and feels that some of the 'cubs' could really do with a good nip now and again :)

2024-04-12 22:39:48 +0000 UTCWhat influenced my fursona? Well, in my case it has to be that dogs have always been in my life ever since I was born. Since I was born deaf/blind I didn’t really have any friends so to speak. Most blind/deaf folks tend to be excluded in a normal life more then most folks realize. I’ve had dogs from English bulldogs to the exotic nearly full blooded wolf. Among other animals such as two rats from Chicago that were smarter then most folks little ancker biters. I imagined my self as a mix up canine way before I found the furry phantom on the internet, since well, there was no such thing when I grew up. I am actually a mix of a white wolf and german shepard. I tend to found my self around dogs all the way till now growing up, and my first guideing animal I used was a timber wolf hybrid. Folks tend to ran away when they saw him as they thought he would be trouble. He wouldn’t hurt a fly, but he sure protected me agains stray dogs that *Cough* shouldn’t be allow to run free. He lived to be over 16 year old before I had to make that faithful descisson to let him go. As he was the most stubberon wolf ever, he just didn’t want to go. Even right now, being blind/deaf writing this, I have 5 wonderful dogs to keep me in line. :P Great Danes to a GSD.
