WGC: Voicemail From a Dimensional Traveler

At just over a thousand words, we would write a short story fitting a chosen theme. The new theme for this week is, "It was an unsanctioned project."
Besides "Goodbye, New Mexico", this has got to be my favorite Bram Heathcliff short story I've written so far.
