Test Build v.0.0.26
Added 2020-11-02 15:47:21 +0000 UTCHello hello..!
abulzz here, and welcome back to Targa Florio!
First of all, I'm truly sorry for the lack of progress update lately. Although it doesn't mean that the progress was halted. No worries about that :D
About two weeks ago, one of my work colleague was tested positive for cov 19. And automatically, every single one in the office have to go into isolation for 3 days before taking swab test as well.
My test result, and all the rest of the people that work in the company came out negative, fortunately. Although I don't have any symptoms, I have to admit that I was a bit worried :D
Seriously, I wish this whole pandemic storm will end soon.
Anyway, I've compiled the new additional buildings and here is the test build v.0.026

we got the main straight of Campofelice done! Now, there's about 100 buildings left I think hahaha
By the way, did you guys saw the new radeon 6000 series? If the performance is as good as they advertise, I'm considering to get one myself. My gtx 970 is a good card, but it is getting quite old.
Because the 3080 price is insane here. The asus rog strix 3080 is tagged at $1500!! I just hope the radeon price won't get inflated that high :(
I hope you enjoy the update,
stay safe, stay healthy,
Cheers!

It is great to see another update on the Targa Florio track ;-) Thanks for the work! Just a short comment re. AMD / nVidia. I have been from the start a big fan of AMD GPUs many, many years ago and have followed through with many generations ever since. It was only until a couple of years ago that I have learned that AMD products simple were not any longer a valid choice. NVIDIA GPUs (ins a single GPU setup) are simply the very best supported GPUs from a driver and game support perspective. Hardware wise NVIDIA and AMD have always been neck to neck it is just that in recent years the divide in driver support has become larger and larger. Me trying to "make it work" on several machines I tried to stick it out on single and dual AMD GPUs in the last years were a story of pain and suffering. I would never ever get myself any AMD product ever again as long as NVIDIA GPUs are simple by far best supported in gaming. The only AMD product I am currently still running (begrudgingly) is the Radeon Pro Vega 20 4 GB in my work notebook (an incredibly expensive built to order optional workstation GPU that when it was new was quite impressive (as far as notebooks for CAD renderings go) but has been one of the bottle necks ever since (as … you guessed it, … driver support and support from software makers has been slim at best. Go with that AMD GPU for saving a few bucks now with a current generation GPU or go with ANY NVIDIA product for peace of mind and more than enough performance. I am still running a latest get 1080Ti with a mild overclock on a intel 8700K locked @ 4.7 with the fastest 32GB RAM on a decent gaming motherboard and it is still plenty performance to power a 1080 @60Hz triple screen setup with all major and recent racing sims (even ACC on eye candy settings is not an issue) without so much as a hitch. This may be a good option if you need an update - find yourself a nice deal on a 1080 Ti or a 2080 (or whatever is the second to last generation of NVIDIA GPUs - you may get an ok deal and you definitely safe yourself the immense headache to deal with AMD driver shenanigans. Re. Covid - stay healthy, eat well and clean, pay attention to vitamins and nutrients and work out every day. Get plenty of sun shine and fresh air if you can and make sure you keep your immune system in tip top shape and should the virus finally get to you you have improved your chances of it being over quickly. Stay in touch with family and friends and support them, give 'em a call and smile every day ;-)
2020-11-03 10:26:18 +0000 UTCBeing a nVidia fanboy (not really, just a fan :D) I will never admit I'm interested in the new Radeons, but... The fact that they can gain a performance advantage by working together with the new Zen 3 processors and X570 motherboards is really interesting. I'm really looking forward to the first benchmarks, this pc generation seems the best one in ages!
2020-11-02 22:17:35 +0000 UTCHi there! As I wrote on racedepartment.com, I'm very happy about your build! I live in Caltavuturo, right on the Targa Florio circuit. I also send you a donation a year ago hoping for a response that never arrived. But it's ok, I only want to help you with this project. I'm also member of some local groups of Targa Florio fans, and a lot of members are old aged and remember clearly a lot of details of the Targa. I suggest to visit our website for some tips and a lot of pics(sorry but this site is pretty old in graphics, but functional) http://www.amicidellatargaflorio.com/ Anyway, feel free to ask me any question for improve your work, if you want I can also learn 3D modeling for help you in this fantastic project!
