Test Build v.0.0.20

Hello hello!

First of all, I hope you are all safe and healthy.

staying safe, staying clean, staying healthy, and most importantly, stay calm and don't panic.

I think it's been 3 weeks since quarantine begins here in Jakarta. I noticed that some people start going back to work at the office.

well, as for myself, I'm working as if it's normal, so I'm actually enjoying the nice clean air and very friendly traffic everyday! XD

but seriously, jokes aside, the air nowadays are so good outside. and I can cut half of my travel time between home and the office.

of course, I'm doing the best that I can to keep social distance to those around me.

Anyway, I finally able to login and make a post! I'm really sorry for the delay, this test build was actually ready since last monday, but I just keep having trouble logging in.

now that it's been sorted out,

here's the test build v.0.0.20

and here is the 3D grass config

for the 3d grass to work you need to get the Content Manager and shader patch installed. If you haven't done so, you can look for it at RaceDepartment. it's totally awesome.

The test build also have an updated AI line, Massive thanks to our friend Jose Manuel for the great work on the AI line.

As I'm writing this, this week I already begin the work on campofelice, as well as updating the road's bank angles. I'll start updating the progress next week! :D

well I hope you all have a good weekend with your families. I'm praying for your safety.

Stay positive!

Cheers!

I like the idea

"You could also organize little track events where Patrons could meet online on your track, there could be a voice channel and so much more." I love the idea of a track day with different cars and the ability to chat and re-enact training and race day.

Björn Eichelbaum

That is great news ;-)

The textures for the towns and houses are being worked on as we speak...I don't know yet how long it will take but I'll try and make use of the current amounts of free time! I'll post some progress pictures on racedepartment as soon as there's something to show!

I forgot to mention - should you not yet have a Discord channel dedicated to your work or even just only this track project, I HIGHLY suggest you may initiate one. It is free of charge and you have full control over which users will have access to it. It would be amazing if you could have a general section, a section of WIP screenshots of how you go about designing the track (there are many people interested in such behind the scene shots) and also a restricted to Patrons section where you could share info for those people only if you so wish. You could also organize little track events where Patrons could meet online on your track, there could be a voice channel and so much more. This would be VERY exciting I am sure ;-)

Thank you for your effort with this amazing project! I was following your project loosely on RaceDepartment since your initial announcement and the background info you provided. I was always very excited to be able at some point to re-enact Targa Florio glory with the race cars of the 60's and 70's as those are by far my favorite cars. Finally (after not knowing about your Patreon at all) I got around and found this page here and after having had a little time on the different sections with a Porsche 917 and different vintage 911 race cars I have to say that the project has so much promise. the road surface feels already very, very satisfying and although most of the scenery and trackside objects are very much in an alpha state the actual driving sensation is already very, very rewarding with the beautiful character of the track. I very much wish that (even though it doesn't sound efficient at all) you may consider to use some temporary placeholder textures on the already modeled building facades - nothing final or elaborate, just throwing roughly cropped photographs of buildings on there and the sensation (especially in low light conditions) of racing through those villages and cities will already be so very much improved. Another suggestions I do have regarding the Custom Shader Patch: You may want to consider not only to ship a current build of the CSP track.ini file here with the current alpha build but ALSO deposit your latest track.ini file onto the official Content Manager / Custom Shader Patch GitHub depository. This way your Patrons will automatically get the very latest track.ini download through Content Manager (this feature is already fully implemented and working solid). Another benefit is also that next to YOU having full authority about the track.ini of course other very talented people, some of which have very, very much experience with the Custom Shader Patch and track.ini files and all latest features have the possibility to improve and optimize the track.ini should they happen to be a Patron and have access to the actual latest track build here. You and of course your Patrons and later users will surely highly benefit from this ;-) Stay safe and I am really looking forward to future builds ;-)

You need have install the Custom Shader Patch in Content Manager and this folder will create there. In Content Manager click in option/grass fx/ active enable and enjoy!

Javier Montes Navarro

Björn, thanks for all! Works!!! I had to activate "grass fx" in content manager. Look great!!!! UUUUooooouuuuuuhhhhhh!!! OooooYeeeeaaahhhh

Javier Montes Navarro

where is that route? I can not find it...

Javier Montes Navarro

Hey Javier, did you put the config file into AssettoCorsa/extension/config/tracks/loaded/targa.....? Worked for me. Good luck !

Björn Eichelbaum

please, how have you got the grass to work

Javier Montes Navarro

I'm wrong about installing the file. Does it happen to anyone else?

Javier Montes Navarro

I've really enjoyed your photos and videos. I love to see that there are motorsport lovers like me

Javier Montes Navarro

Thanx a lot, just what I needed today. With the new and quite tall grass now almost every corner is blind - at least in the Lancia Stratos, which is very low. Just managed a 37.51 in the Stratos but was distracted by the new look :-). Another thing, altough the map is probably the biggest asseto corsa map to date, it runs totally smooth on my old machine, not one frame dropped - good looking, fun to drive and efficent - respect !

Björn Eichelbaum

I'm sure he has ;)

Michael Springer

Thank you so much for your incredible patience with this project! Stay safe! Greetings from quarantine in Germany! PS: Have you already seen those new photos of Targa Florio in your racedepartment thread? https://www.racedepartment.com/threads/targa-florio-73-pre-alpha.159511/page-9
