Weekly Progress #22

Hello, hello!

end of the month is approaching, and I'm gonna start compiling all this month's progress to a new test build :D
this week we got all the generic houses placed all around the track. *phew*

in total, there are 659 generic houses. The number would probably go up later, and I'm planning to use simple planes for faraway settlements.

Next thing to do is, to make unique houses and building that are very close to the road.


By the way, have you guys play dirt rally 2.0? I haven't played it yet, but is it just me, or the stages are too few compared to the first Dirt rally 1.0?

and speaking of dirt rally, I have to say its tracks are soo well made. the details on the landscape are freaking amazing. and respects to codemaster and its ego engine to be able to handle so many polygons.

I bring up dirt rally because it is the perfect example of how I envisioned the targa florio when it's finished XD

well technically it is possible to make targa like that. but the trickiest part will be putting it inside AC engine hahaha. But we'll see. I believe it's doable ;)

DR2.0 is fairly nice. Don't like the way they've locked off content from the last one behind a DLC paywall. I was pretty disappointed that they abandoned the stage generator instead of perfecting it. As nice as the stages are there are too few and after a few runs it turns into hillclimb as you get to know the corners, which isn't what rally should be. Handling is nice though. Hopefully they keep this handling for Dirt 5 but give us a more refined stage generator.

I was watching a stage of Dirt. Awesome. if the Targa Florio is going to look like that, we should make a monument to Abulzz
