Have you ever been in a situation, where all you want is to get a fast and cheap solution, but it turn out to be a big and expensive problem? -__-"

Well that's basically what happened.

I told you before that my laptop start making noises right? well it basically only need a fan cleaning. so i took it to the nearby service shop. Not an official asus service center, because here, asus official service center was infamous for overpricing and taking their time just to clean a fricking fan.

after a day in the service shop, I came back, just in time to see the guy struggling to make my laptop boot. it won't turn on. but in the end, he managed to put it together and it was tested and running ok before I took it back with me. At home, I smelled a faint burnt smell, and all my usb port not working. and my laptop was abnormally hot.

The next day i took it back, and although the service guy offer to fix it, I already lost all trust. If he can't do it right the first time, no guarantee he can do it right the next time.

The next day, I took it to the official asus service center, and after explaining the problem, they immidiately said that I need to change the mainboard, and it will take 3 weeks because the sparepart for my laptop is not common. crap.

After that I look in local forums for a highly recommended service shop who has a good reputation, and found one on the other side of the city. So I went there, and to cut the story short, I got my laptop fixed. cost me a lot more than a simple fan cleaning, but it's still much much better than the official asus service center.

what a way to start the new year huh?
