The update is on track to release soon! I hope it will release before the end of April, but I'm willing to move it back to early May if I absolutely have to. I don't expect that to be necessary unless something goes wrong, though. Right now, I'd bet on the last week of April. I will announce a specific day probably only a few days in advance, as is now my custom.
Everything in this post has been mentioned before, but I wanted to put it all together into a single big post for your convenience and for the sake of clarity.
When the update releases, I will be changing the tiers and pricing on the Patreon, as described in this post. Tl;dr, there will be three editions of Hex, and most of the patron benefits other than early and access to certain cosmetics will be moving to the Gold Edition ($6+ tier). Nothing will change regarding access to the patron edition of SS. Prices for current tiers are going up and a new $3 tier is being added.
The Itch page for both currently available editions of Hex will be temporarily unavailable for a few hours (maybe a day or two at most) leading up to the release of the game. The web services for Hex, like the servers for multiplayer and the CDN will also briefly be down, and this might cause bugs specifically in the currently available patron edition. Probably not a huge deal, but I want to let you all know in advance.
Saves from the alpha versions of Hex can be carried forward.
Since this is a soft-relaunch of Hex I'm basically treating it like I would an initial release, so all versions of the game will be released more or less at the same time. The normal one week early release for the patron editions (that's the Silver and Gold Editions, now) will resume in the following update.
Honestly, I was a little nervous about this update over the last three or so months, but it is starting to really take shape, and I feel pretty good about how its shaping up now. This update is a big deal and I feel like it could make or break this game, so I feel a lot of pressure to get it right. I actually scrapped and rewrote a lot of the story for this update over the last month to make the whole thing a little less serious and more light-hearted, and I think that really elevated it to where it needed to be, and my anxiety is finally back down to manageable levels now that I feel like things are on the rails.
