Hex v0.0.9α is coming out soon, maybe this weekend or early next week. After the update releases, it will be followed a few days later by the game's first live event! The live event will last until early November and be themed around Halloween/autumn! If you complete the event, you'll get a special outfit as a reward! Please note that the system for managing and delivering these live events is still under heavy development, so please be aware that there may be bugs and other problems!
This update and the live event will only be available to patrons. The outfit will be exclusive to the event for now, but I may add another way to acquire it in the future.
Free edition players will have to wait a little longer for more Hex content. Sorry!
Live Event FAQ
What is a "live event?"
It's an in-game event that will only be available for a limited time. After the event period ends, the event content will be unavailable! I will probably build upon and develop new content and ideas for existing events in the future, so even if an event goes away, that doesn't mean all its content and features are gone forever!
Why is this content temporary?
Most of this content will be themed around holidays or times of year, and I also think generating a little bit of exclusivity and excitement is good for building a stronger community and more interest in the game. It's not my goal to full Skinner-box FOMO farming, though. Some events will also add permanent content and features as well, the only real rule is that the events are only available when you're online and connected to the game server.
Will I interact with other players in the event?
No, the event will be single player.
It is possible for me to add more multiplayer-like elements to future events, but I will probably stick to forcing users to interact indirectly through their throne realm attendants for legal and ethical reasons. So direct multiplayer interactions will probably never happen, think leaderboards or indirect interactions at most.
