Debtors' Prison - SS v0.15 Update Preview 1

If you can believe it, the debtors' prison is even less humane that the city's dungeon, and it's where you'll end up if you stay in debt for too long. Once there, if you can't negotiate a way to pay back your debt on your own, you'll be auctioned off to the highest bidder as a so-called "servant." Word is, a lot of lords and ladies get their chambermaids and "personal" servants at these auctions…

When you first get into debt, there's a chance bounty hunters will start coming for you. Your current debt and the amount of time you've been in debt both influence how soon and often these guys will show up, and also how tough they are to escape. Once one catches you, he'll hall you off to the debtors' prison.

At the prison you'll have a few options. You can let the prison sell off all your earthly possessions, which will cause you to lose all of your potions and ingredients in exchange for an amount of G based on how much you had. This G will be used to pay your debt, and you'll be able to keep the rest. You can also reach out to a friend. Different friends have different requirements to be available and different financial situations, but most of your buds will help you at least once, even if they don't like you that much. Affection and romance also play a big role. You can also of course just submit yourself to be auctioned and cut out all the guff.

Regardless of what you choose, you'll have to spend some time in the prison until you're processed, and you'll spend several days chained up with a bunch of mischievous guards who will do various light-hearted shenanigans to you while you wait.

After your stint in the prison, if your friends can't help or if you decided to just bite the bullet, you'll then be able to proceed to the auction. I intend to add more BDSM and free-use options to the auction in the future, but for right now, most of the options are somewhat tame and vanilla. Don't get me wrong, they are sexy and lewd, but you are for the most part the sexual aggressor in all of them, and some of them can be played fairly chaste if you want. When the more intense options are added in a future version, you'll always have at least one of these more tame options to fall back on!
