Hex: "Yuri Mode" coming in v0.0.5α

After the update later this month, players will be able to start the game in "yuri mode." This is an option you can only select when starting a new game, and once yuri mode is selected, it can't be shut off!

Yuri mode has the following effects:

• You can no longer gather flasks of semen or thick semen when having sex with male partners.
• When having sex with male or female partners, you will gain one of two new potions--essence flasks and shining essence flasks--at the same rate you would normally gain flasks of semen from sex with men. These potions have the same exact same effect as flasks of semen or thick semen.
• All lesbian sex actions can be unlocked by having lesbian sex only, though the rate of unlocking these actions will be slower (just because there are more; it will take about the same number of total sexual encounters as it normally would, you just have to do all those encounters in one encounter type). Having sex with male characters will no longer unlock any lesbian sex actions, but will still unlock the other sex actions as normal.
• The "female customers" setting will automatically be set to the max (100%), preventing male customers from appearing in prostitution at all by default, but you can freely change this in the game config if you want.
• The player character's sexual preference will be overridden and set to "women."

What yuri mode does not do:

• You will not be prevented from having sex with men if you want to.
• As mentioned above, while the "female customers" setting will be set to 100% by default when starting a new game in yuri mode, you can change it to allow male customers to begin appearing again at any time.
• Male characters will still appear in events and scenes across the game and proposition the player for sex, flirt with her, etc. The vast majority of these events can simply be ignored, but I have no plans to remove them or shut them off.
• Some sexual/erotic content involving men will still be present. For example, males will still appear nude in certain scenes and may therefore be described or shown, or NPCs may engage in straight sex amongst themselves when the player is present, stuff like that. Against most of these can simply be ignored and avoided.

Yuri mode is intended to make a pure lesbian playthrough possible and reasonably comfortable, but it will not completely remove every reference to straight sex or to sex with men from the game, so do set your expectations appropriately! Futanari content, which isn't in the game yet, will be optional in either yuri mode or normal mode, and should largely be unaffected by any of this.

While I don't want to oversell it, I do think this game mode will be a lot of fun and allow a wider audience to enjoy Hex. I would still recommend the normal mode for most players that plan to engage in both straight and lesbian content even if they tend to prefer the latter (unless the semen stuff grosses you out, as the essence flasks is a big potential change), as the normal mode will be the main intended way to play the game, and provide a more balanced experience.
