The free edition of the Hex alpha will release on July 5.
Added 2023-07-02 14:22:23 +0000 UTCNo one asked, but: I was gonna release it on Thursday, so the normal one week later, but I am gonna be busy this weekend, and I'm worried if there are major issues with the alpha, I won't be able to address them. I also don't really want people to have to wait until next week, and I have SS stuff to do too and need to focus on that next week, so I decided I'd release it a day early. That way, I'll have Thursday and Friday to fix any issues, and I can take the weekend off (sort of) and come back fresh to do some work on SS on the other side!
Other than not having access to the offering box items, the free edition will be basically the same as the patron edition. The patron edition will get an patch, mostly minor bug fixes. I don't plan to add any new content yet. I'll do the free release of the alpha, then an SS patch, then an update to the alpha, then v0.15 of SS. That's the order I plan to do things in, at least. All I can say about the time table is I expect v0.15 of SS to come out sometime in late August or the first half of September, but I also want to get the debtor's prison in this version, even if it takes some extra time, so keep that in mind!
The alpha update won't take that much time because a lot of its content is in the game already, just unfinished and hidden/inaccessible, so there's probably less work that needs done than you would assume. And the SS patch is pretty far along too, so I'm pretty confident both will come out this month, but no promises yet.
