Chapter Delayed + March Schedule Update

There’s no chapter today. I’m about 3/4s through chapter 36, so if all goes well I hope to post it tomorrow. But I dislike posting delay announcements, and since I've done two in a row, I’m going to go ahead and bite the bullet now and say that I can’t commit to weekly chapters through the first week of April. Possibly longer. I’m just gonna write as much as I can and post it as it gets done, up to once a week.

I put a lot of stock in professionalism as a virtue. The protestant work ethic, under promise and over deliver, mean what you say, all that stuff. But frankly, I’ve kinda just committed to too much shit at the moment. I’ve got the full time job that was frankly more like time and a half in February, this story, the other story that keeps siphoning away my time that I know I shouldn’t be working on but I do because it won’t leave my head (Codename The Taker of Tongues, original Urban Fantasy, basically Batman meets Black Butler, coming to a forum near you whenever I actually have enough chapters for a backlog because I don’t have the self control to stop working on it), and I’ve also been writing a MOBA in my spare time because:

I’m planning on leaving my job in 2025 to try to make ends meet doing game development and writing fiction full time.

But until then, I’m massively over booked. And I’ve got a week of work travel in March, plus family coming in next week, so I just don’t think a chapter a week is happening, especially since I don’t want to rush things with how many fiddly details and moving parts there are in the next arc.

Anyway, I’m gonna close this just saying again how much I appreciate all of ya’ll. There’s so much good writing out there, and the fact that people are spending their time on and enjoying this story really does blow me away. This whole thing started when I decided to pick a really trashy premise and treat it with as much seriousness and gravity as I could as a writing exercise, I never actually expected it to garner thousands of regular readers. I’m gonna do my best to make it worth your time, just as soon as I find the time.
