Our End-of-Year Newsletter (Please read!) ^^

Okay…

So, finally, the year is winding down and we can all wish it away like some disgusting, evil, rancid lump of unmentionable …whatever. 

We don’t need fumigation – we practically need exorcists to get over 2020. 

It really started out so well for us too. We had a fantastic monthly haul of around $840 to pay our wonderful artists and to get special commissions for our best supporters. We had a nice client come visit us in February, around Valentine’s Day, to work with us on a screenplay she had written, and she’d hired us to edit it.

We went out to dinner that night but RiffRaff stayed home – with a sore throat. We really didn’t think anything much of it, but in a few days it had blown up into a pretty bad cough and there was some worry.

But then a week later, the cough went away with zinc, tea and water, and we thought nothing else of it. Then Leilani got sick with the same symptoms for about a week and, again, everything seemed to be alright soon after. We looked forward to March Madness college basketball, the annual Furnal Equinox in Toronto, Canada, for which we were slated to be panelists, and teach people all about writing, world-building and more…

We were so excited.

Little did we know, February of 2020 was the last month of normalcy for the whole world.

Long story short, it affected us all very much. Whether you yourselves were affected greatly or not, we want to say we are so sad that things happened like they did. We wish nothing but good health and happy times ahead for you all, and we’re very sincerely grateful that you have stuck by our sides all this time.

And now, the news! <3

With 2021 on the horizon, we want patrons to look forward to much more fun and rewards and incentives. Before we get too carried away though, we want to express to you all that these are IDEAS only. We won’t be implementing anything until we have a majority agreement, so just consider this a “board meeting” *^^*

First off, we want to expand the cameos portion of our $50 tier to include cameos to “Insignificant Otters” as well as “The Depths”. Also along with that, we want to provide special gift art exclusively for one of our “Adventurers” members every month. We can make a list of these supporters and pick sequentially from start to finish. This exclusive art would be arranged courtesy of some of the most amazing newcomer artists we’ve discovered, all extremely talented and looking for your attention. <3 

As we write this, we have just inked a deal with the incredible artist Moonabel (https://www.furaffinity.net/user/moonabel) as our first potential artist. And trust us, she’s incredible. <3

We want to create a new tier at $25, and this one would be very appealing to our writing fans. These users would enjoy a “splash story” each month and, again, we would make a list and sequentially choose from that list each month, then connect with the winner that round, to get a short story from us, SFW or NSFW, including your favorite characters (or your own) in them. They could be almost anything you like, save for rape, cub, bodily fluids, gore and wanton violence. These stories would also be posted on our main “The Depths” website, as well as Furaffinity and SoFurry, so you’re guaranteed a LOT of publicity for your character(s). <3

We also want to do podcasts! We want to do more for the community, and since our merchandise idea fell through for now, we’d like to invite Patrons to join us for really cool creator meetings, discussions, tutorials, reviews, and even online classes in a variety of subjects. We have full access to Zoom video too, so we can not only talk live, but also let you watch us work. We can provide these videos to YouTube as well. Roy Wolverine would LOVE to get an audience to watch him work too!

These podcasts would be available for everyone at the $5.00 Explorers tier, so we’re really not asking for a lot to get you a lot more rewards.

“Island Girls” will be updated solely on Tapas comics for the time being. We had started a new website for these lovely ladies, but it’s not quite up to speed yet. Likewise with the new Patreon. We’re a little up in the air still on what we want to do with “Island Girls” but are convinced it can be a phenomenal hit someday, because it’s got awesome characters and a fabulous story. It will stay on our Patreon and we’ll provide more updates and works-in-progress for this comic as well.
