November newsletter *^^*

A few announcements to make. First, the stitches in my hand come out today and it looks like the surgery to fix my fingers and thumb was successful. Another plus for health insurance. It's still difficult to write for long periods without a break, so I'm trying to take it easy for a few more weeks. But I have managed to write up to page 52, and am keeping about two weeks ahead of the artists, which is a good thing. *^^*

Secondly, until 2019 "The Shallows" is discontinued. DarkShadow777 informed me that he's on a vacation from November until January, so since he's also halting commissions for that time, I thought he deserved a break as well. I apologize for the delays but the holidays should be important to us all. As it is, I'm really pleased we'll still be able to post pages of "The Depths" in a relatively timely manner.

I'm going to be revisiting the tiers in the new year. A lot of people have committed so much time and effort, and I need to re-think things a bit because I haven't seen a significant increase in supporters at all. While I'm happy people want to spend so much money, the bottom line is, you shouldn't have to. =( I'd rather 200 or 300 people be able to commit to $5.00 per month, rather than 5-6 people committing $80. So, I'll be re-designing the whole Patreon plan, and putting it into motion in January. Riffraff and I have MANY ideas for how to reward everyone, not to worry. <3

Top Webcomics, as much as I'm pleased with the voting support so far this month, which has "The Depths" currently at #2, our highest position yet, is just not as effective as I thought. They seem to be very biased towards the less furry, more human-centered comics, and even powerhouse comic TwoKinds has to run voting incentives just to get people to come. That shouldn't be the case at all if you have a comic with tons of readers. According to what I could check on my own, "The Depths" gets about 100 readers a week, and we had close to 200 website impressions in the past week. I'll run the Top Webcomics campaign until the end of the month to see if there's any significant improvements, but so far I just haven't seen it. I have a really GOOD search engine optimization specialist who's helping us out, so we'll see how that goes. I'll stay hopeful. *^^*

Speaking of voting, let's put our heads together and vote for this month's Splash Story! You know how this goes by now. You comment with a story idea you'd like to see, and your comment counts as a vote (based on the number of votes you qualify for), and then if someone "loves" the idea, it adds another vote, or someone can "second" your idea, which adds another vote. So have at it! <3

**

On an end-note, again speaking of voting, remember that November 6th is Election Day in the U.S. If you're a citizen of this country, whether naturalized or not, it is your right to make your voice heard. Reserve this right and vote. <3

Thank you to all of you still providing support this past year. We're coming up on two years since "The Depths" started, and while we've had some ups and downs, we've managed to keep things moving strong. Thank you also to AblueDeer, Kino Jaggernov, and Twinkle for their tireless work in keeping the dream alive. <3

Comments

That's not a bad idea.

Adding this for a suggestion for Splash story, Maku x Malana
