Should I change to pay monthly? and an update

I have been thinking about changing my patron to a monthly payment system for a while now. The main reason being I get 4-5 fake accounts each month signing up to try and access content for free. I have several options available to me to stop them;

Option 1) Do nothing and just accept that some people will always pirate content. Basically everything stays the same and I try to filter out fake accounts as they sign up, however means content will almost certainly be leaked.

Option 2) email out all content to your patreon email addresses and just use patron as a charging facility. Means a lot more work for me, but I'm willing to do it. However, you get your patron rewards via email, so it could get lost in spam etc (I did this before and had mixed results).

Option 3) Change to charging monthly. I originally opted for a pay for submission because that way you guys only pay when I produce completed works worth paying for. The pay bands wouldn't change but it means if I go through a dry spell you might have gaps in content. (Although over the last year I have produced a whole bunch of stories as well as 2 novels, so not doing too bad content wise).

At the moment I am just looking for opinions and your opinion on if it is working. I'm not promising to follow the majority, but I will seriously consider your opinion.

Additionally I finished the first full draft of For the love of Mi'Lord yesterday and so you can all see how it ends. It is nearly 55K words long, that is just a couple of thousand words shorter than Dyeing to be with you. It is pretty much a full length novel although, I will be putting it in an orc anthology ebook and physical book I will ensure my patrons (you guys) get an electronic copy of the new ebook once I have fully edited, formatted and proofed the works (so give me a month or two).

I will be emailing you all a link to the full updated draft (that is using option 2 above, anyone who has just pledged and has not yet paid for a submission should email me to confirm they are not a fake account and I will include them in the email).

Thank you very much, I really appreciate the feedback.

Ironically one of the reasons I originally opted for pay per submission was because I felt monthly would be too much pressure to produce. However, I have learned that I can take payment breaks on pay monthly. As for how it stops people stealing, basically at the moment they can sign up pay nothing and have access to whatever I have posted at the tier they pledge to. On pay monthly I can opt that new patrons have to pay their first month in advance the second the sign up. So before they get any access at all they have to pay. I don't think any of my paying patrons are leaking this stuff, I just am getting tired of fake accounts signing up, I get about one a week. Though I also dislike changing because of someone else being a dick, still I am going to have to change something, so far the only thing that got no votes is do nothing. I really do appreciate your feedback though and believe me I want to make sure that whatever I do has minimal impact on my patrons.

thanks for your input

I liked option 3 the best but I would be happy with any of the three options. Just do whatever will help you decrease theft without giving you too much extra work. You're already a hard working bear and don't need more work.

Switching to monthly might not push you to create content as well, so I figure that option 2 would be the best. Pirating content is a shitty th8ing to do, so we understand you wanting to do something about it, but switching to monthly seems like a bad idea motivation wise, and I'm not sure how that fixes the pirating problem.

Paying monthly is what I expect anyway from Patreon so I'm not sure why that would be a problem.
