#069 - Lesbian Bar Drama (Ad-Free Video)

Catching up on episodes, so hopefully you have new insurance by now. State farm has done well for me. so good to see Mak getting routine in! I am in a similar boat, however still counting down to the move in w my gf while in school for the same field. You both inspired me to keep going with school, it was so hard to go back! A+ for the restorytelling :) you both did great. Cubbyhole, like its name suggests, is too small for men to be considered.

I loved this episode- comments as a bi male: Alanna asked for examples of non toxic, supportive environments for cis men, they don’t exist. Toxic masculinity is a part of traditional male gender norms so any space designed for that is dripping in that toxicity. If you are a male that doesn’t want to sexualize someone, or be sexualized (gay bar) or be a space for positive masculinity to flourish it really doesn’t exist. I don’t go into Lesbian bars for the exact reasons spoken about in this episode- but I sure would want to. Just to be in a space that ISNT about me, or toxic expressions of my masculinity sounds so refreshing! But there are some generalized queer spaces where I can get some of that! Which is why I love and cherish generalized queer spaces so much- as rare as they can be!

First things first... A+ episode... loved the episode, supergood vibe between Mak and Alayna... A++ for Mak being so engaged... sharks, planes and all. ;) Reaction vid by Ashley would be hilarious. Ok now to the bar drama. Alayna gave the example of a queer male bar where they weren't allowed to enter... and accepted it. Of course. Male queers want their space, so why would you go there as female....(no matter if you are cis female or lesbian) ?? .... and I do not believe that male queers would feel a danger of being harrassed by a female "shark" ... still we don't go and leave them their space. Full stop. So in reverse... it is alllll the way just fair to not have a male in a lesbian space. And I know of a club called Lions club who did not allow the presence of women (read: the wives of the members; all cis of course) into their meetings a couple of years back. Might have changed by now. But just another example where it is ok to block females out. But if females themselves block males out, it is a "drama" .... wtf?!

You know what girls....... A+ / A* however you grade your sh*t. This was an awesome episode and you shark tooth nailed it. As a bisexual woman I didn't even know a monocular was a thing! I feel truly educated. Ashley - don't fear dad... Mom and Baby have got this. (Although I do have thoughts about dissing on insurance companies Mak, and I'm not angry, I'm just am disappointed)
