2025-10-20 22:54:59 +0000 UTCThis is one of my favourite episodes! You feel bad for everyone involved, and yeah the kid actor is phenomenal!!! The end scene of the case (Mom wanting to bad to hug her kid but can't, Sammy trying to comfort his mom and finally allowing her to hug him, Lizzy seeing her dead brother she hasn't seen in 5 years and breaking down) it brings tears to my eyes everytime. I also love that we get more of autistic coded Reid and that he is the one able to connect with Sammy. Matthew actually read Reid as autistic from the beginning and worked with the costume departement to incorporate some hints, like him wearing his watch over his sleeve since a lot of people on the spectrum struggle with jewelery directly on the skin. That is something I've actually done since my childhood as well and always was ridiculed for. Seeing that pattern in Reid (and having a huge - still ongoing - crush on both Spencer and Matthew) made me feel more comfortable with that. Woo for representation!
