Heavy episode, but I love the ending. It feels so random, but I like that banker character. You'd think he'd be a one-off character, there to turn down her bank loan and never to be seen again. Instead, he always shows up in the most surprising moments. At the "no talking" retreat, where he was with that men's group, and he and Fleabag end up having a genuine conversation, and then here, when Fleabag is clearly at her lowest, feeling betrayed by her sister and cast aside by her father (and her ex-boyfriend, and the motorcycle guy), and feeling super responsible for the death of her best friend Boo. I love that banker guy comes back in and suggests they try having that loan meeting again. It's like he's offering her a clean slate in that moment, which she desperately needs. (And in some ways, so does he, after the stuff he mentioned he had been going through in that previous episode.) So she starts over again... and we get to wonder what will happen for her next, in season 2. Great writing! <3
