It's great that we're finally seeing the other side of Cat, she's very bitchy but underneath that she's got a really good heart and you can see that she does care about Kara. As for the ongoing love triangle, I hate how Kara treats Winn tbh. Even though she's oblivious to his crush on her, you still don't leave a friend at the dinner table to talk to your crush or turn away from him during a conversation to do the same. It's like she doesn't respect him and it makes me sad because he's such a gem. π And I feel the same as you about Dean Cain. When he did this show he hadn't yet gone off the deep end into alt right crazy town, but seeing him now is hard.
