Important Update: MUST read for new subscribers

Apple, being the greedy corporate giant that it is, has forced Patreon to change its revenue model. Any subscription made through the iPhone/iPad app is now subject to an additional 30% commission to Apple. That’s preposterous, especially considering Patreon itself only charges 8%. This has a significant impact on the prices of my tiers for Apple users.
Tier: Usual Rates <<< iOS Rates:
Supporting Role: $5 <<< $7.50
Lead Role: $10 <<< $14.50
Director: $20 <<< $29
Additionally, creators like me will only receive that money 75 days after your payment, which is a very long wait. So, if you’re planning to subscribe, I request that you use a web browser or the Android app to access the lower rates.
If you’ve already subscribed at a higher rate, I encourage you to cancel and resubscribe using a browser or Android app.
Even if you want to read the story on an iPhone, it’s not a problem! Just subscribe through a browser (you can even use the browser on your iPhone) and continue reading on the iOS app without any issues.
Important: For all my existing members who subscribed on or before February 13, 2025, you don’t need to change anything and can continue reading as usual. However, if you cancel your subscription and wish to resubscribe, these changes will apply to you as well.

2025-02-16 08:58:30 +0000 UTCIt won't just be 30% for you. Apple is taking away 30% of the fee charged from the members. It would actually end up costing you 45% more if you reverse calculate. That's why $10 became $14.5 in the example quoted above. (So you'll end up paying 38 more in your case).
