2025-07-14 21:46:11 +0000 UTCThey really wrote Minik as a character that will be universally hated, I always give props to people who take on these roles knowing youâre just there to be hated. However, she did get Baileys nod of approval and encouragement to do what she is doing and implement it so her being chief means that should be final and an order for everyone. Also Richard is being very butt hurt and jealous weâve seen it multiple times and this isnât the last surrounding him and the program, if weâre being real his ways simply donât work anymore especially long in the future when this storyline pops up again. As well as that as scary as it is and trust me Iâm in the field Iâm terrified of that idea too, but students have to learn by doing, and these âstudentsâ like Ben and Joe arenât exactly newbies they are way more than capable. They can handle their own patients they keep being egotistical and cocky and not letting anyone else do anything and thatâs all it comes down to, the good old Surgeonâs egos. We see when they do take on their own patients and roles in the past and future, they know what theyâre doing and they get it done. Unfortunately not every case works out but thatâs the profession and part of learning u have to have people die on u, u have to screw up, like I said even I find it crazy what we let students do and by students I mean people out of school, not these guys. But look back when they just came they screwed up, now theyâre good, same with Jackson, Richard, April everyone. These people forget when they were new they were also given opportunities and encouraged to do surgeries on their own even tho they were scared by Grey, Yang, Torres, Webber, Sloan, Shepherd etc. like everyone goes through the same thing. The problem is these guys are forgetting to do that with others, and the irony is the people Minik encourages to be taught arent even newbies, like Ben etc., they know what theyâre doing. See how Murphy was also scared even tho sheâs a good surgeon, yet she was left alone and she gave the right diagnosis and did the operation with Arizona and it was successful. See how satisfied Minik was with what Arizona let Murphy do and she didnât even do it because she wanted to but because she had to and it worked out. Arizona has actually been the best teacher I mean she made Alex Karev by pushing him being stern and encouraging, letting him do things on his own, believing in him, seeing that he is capable and encouraging him even when he didnât want to and she made the best peeds surgeon out there. Nobody else has that arc except maybe April and Owen too, although Owen was more just like a father always there for her rather than pushing her, she sort of got thrown in there as head resident and then everything happened, but she also went from a scared, quiet girl to being a top bad ass trauma surgeon with more courage than Owen and anyone. We have to let young people learn and only on real cases will they learn, thatâs life, itâs a teaching profession, see then do type of job. I think Bailey shouldâve called them all in first and told them that she gave her the get go and the plan and nobody get in her way, after all sheâs here for a reason. I mean she kind of said it but not really, itâs her job to yell at them and tell them to get their shit together like she always has done. Nobody likes the new guy and yes I wouldâve told her off in real life but again thatâs just egos talking. She got the green light from the chief so these people say they respect Bailey yet they want to go against Minik and plan a takedown which is only doing them, Bailey and the hospital harm, not Minik she has a job she can go anywhere she wants. I know for the story they always do this the new guy is hated then liked/respected blah blah but seriously itâs just stupid writing anyway, half of this season too, like that random episode in the middle of the storyline as wellđ€Šđ»ââïž
