I appreciated what you said a lot, Travis. This episode is an extraordinarily tough one, because of the child subject matter. I remember seeing it for the first time and being moved to tears because it's so horrible, probably one of the most terrible things we could ever imagine -- the assault and murder of a child. I already knew I liked the humorous banter of the "squints" team in the lab, especially with the flirting with the "hot courier" in the previous episode, but this episode brought things to a much more serious level and handled it with sensitivity, intelligence and compassion. After this episode, I knew I wanted to keep watching for sure. I also loved the side story with Hodgins. Yes, it's a silly thing for him to get worked up about (people knowing who he is, and that he's rich, and that he essentially owns the place in which he works), but at the same time it's rare to see a secondary character get fleshed out in such an interesting way, so I liked that they gave him a little more detail like this. Plus, I appreciated him more, because -- based on the info we got -- he probably doesn't need to work a day in his life, given his family money. But he has multiple doctorates, is clearly very intelligent, and shows up to the Jeffersonian every day because the work is important to him. Like Angela learned in this episode, their work IS very important. Angela puts a face to the victims, and Hodgins helps to ascertain more about their deaths, all critical pieces in the solving of crimes and giving the families peace. And like you pointed out, Travis -- there are real people who actually do these jobs. They must deal with some of the worst of humanity. It's unimaginable. So watching this episode gave me an appreciation for the people who do this kind of research and investigation. Definitely a strong episode for season 1! :)

On another note your reaction to Zach stupid comment in the end about Angela needing "to hear her job description in a deep african american tone" was so perfect I may have rewinded it a bit. Can't wait for you to see what's next.
